[Primus Porcus]

No doubt about Dunbar. I'm not expecting him to be a day 1 starter at CB after making the move, but given the opportunities he's had, he's at least shown that he can be effective in those instances. Doesn't mean he will or wont be effective as the stage and competition gets bigger, but it's more of a "if there's anything you want to see, that's it" situation.

I was less than impressed with Amerson his rookie year too. That's when I first started referring to him by his more appropriate name, Toast.

He certainly could turn things around. But, if we traded him tomorrow, I'd consider it an addition to our talent level, by subtraction.

NFL network played gruden talking ablution griffins comments the other day and they thought it was extremely refreshing how he stuck up for Griff and said it was a great sign as well.

Absolutely, but he's shown ability in a small sample size. We gotta believe we have our 2 starting guys in place, so we're not looking for a pro bowler. If one comes available, then great... but what we need is depth and internal development. Dunbar COULD be that.

I haven't written off Breeland either. I just remember Amerson in his first season, where he did show us there was a lot of potential. Sophomore slump in year two, rebound year three ? Breeland is very likely the better prospect, but does he progress this season, or slump. Having so many rookies in the mix is good, but when the games count, I'd rather guys with a bit more game action on the field.

This is a problem we haven't had to 'deal' with for a long time. While it's concerning walking into the regular season, I'm REALLY happy that we're experiencing it. It shows me that we're building the team, not filling holes with whoever we can pay. We haven't experienced a rebuild in a long time. We brought in some safeties and d-linemen, but we can only draft so many people.

Griffin is already letting PR run his life. He was out there for Subway and others before he took his first NFL snap.

What's changed is that in 2012 his words to the media were not as controversial.

But now with an axe to grind against the Shanahans and some media that were their outlet to vent against Robert in the past, Griffin is no longer a guy with a sense of humor and proportion.

He is more dismissive, sarcastic and jaded now and that comes through.

What he still hasn't learned is that he could have done himself a favor all along by being more selective and judicious about when to talk and what to talk about.

That goes for when he is doing well and when he is being booed at home.

You never see Luck or Wilson come out with the kind of garbage Griffin does.

They don't let themselves get painted into a corner having to 'explain what the meant to say' every five minutes.

Yea..that Griffin guy...what a self-centered, ego maniacal character. all that work in the local community? pfffft. no sense developing a balanced view of the real person. easier to run with a one dimensional caricature.

personally...I don't give a you know what about what he says in a business that cans people in a heartbeat and has a half-life measured in 1-2 year increments. all that matters is performance on the field. that's where he has set himself up - with a lotta help from a dysfunctional franchise and lousy coaching.
