He does no doubt. I think it has to do with what he's shown on the field, and people being sick of the team having players go to other teams to be very productive. If ya want home grown talent, sometimes you have to be patient. I'm not saying pull a "Hankerson" and sit and wait forever for a guy who will never be more then average. I don't think the new regime will go that far, but are taking a cautious approach knowing what could be.

The team should send him to Huntersville,NC for a mandatory two week "How to Handle the Press" Camp,taught by Joe Gibbs.

Then he'd learn how to say a whole lot without really saying anything.

Super smart and fight their guts out are required additions to one's vocabulary.

Shortly before Robert Griffin III gave a statement on his controversial comments, Redskins captain Trent Williams was asked if he was surprised by the amount of attention his quarterback’s self-confident words had received.

“No,” Williams said flatly. “Not at all.”

Griffin said following Tuesday's practice that his comments were taken out of context and that he was used by certain media outlets for internet clicks, adding, “It’s just unfortunate that my name keeps getting used for headlines, for people to click on stories.”

Williams agreed with Griffin’s assessment.

“Just needed something to talk about. Got to nitpick. Not to ya’ll,” Williams said, referring to the local reporters who had gathered around him. “But you know how people are. Social media gets a hold of things, and blows everything out of proportion.”

Williams added: “You don’t want to play for a guy that doesn’t have confidence in himself."

I do really like to see the public support from the Coach and from the pro bowler. I hope this means that Griff has a positive connection with his teammates, after the reports last year that he'd alienated himself.

Boone...the problem with this is that it means the speaker has to know how every person he speaks to is going to process and munge what is communicated. that's impossible! there have to be some ranges of responses that are simply accepted as normal and acceptable. that's not the standard these days - anything and everything is organized to support unending attack mode. the real casualty in all of this is a fundamental quality that all relationships turn on: trust. the media has basically conveyed "Efffff that...we have our own plan...and it doesn't include the former set of responsibilities and rules that established the foundation for trust."

I get the vanilla approach. on one level it makes sense in terms of preventative medicine. but it carries a very, very high price: freedom of expression. and that is one of the intended objectives in all of this. sports media is no different in this regard from the political media.

Oh come on Al, we aren't talking about preserving the Republic and protecting the Constitution here.... We're talking about having enough self-awareness and savvy to know that if you say you are the best QB in the NFL after two horrible seasons to a bunch of soundbyte- crazy media types, that all hell is going to break loose. Yeah, in the abstract we all retain the right to speak our mind 24/7. But we also know that we need to understand who we are communicating to as well.

bubba....I'm not looking at this as a single event. I'm looking at it as a sustained and unrelenting assault.

for the 5 mins I could stand it w/o puking this morning...I listened to Jason Reid keep pounding away on this theme. you know...the same guy who has been fired from multiple jobs and is part of a major newspaper that has been anti-Redskins for years. IMO...these are not isolated instances....this is all part of a loosely orchestrated campaign to suborn people and control behavior. the irony is that a large cross-cut of the people playing this game are hugely flawed themselves and do not deserve any respect or credibility.

how one responds, of course, is a personal matter. we all set the threshold at which we think and act "No more...this has gone far enough."

Well, i am at risk at any given moment in my real life of responding like Ax or Fan or Mike would and letting the chips fall where they may. But i think with Griffin, he allows himself to get twisted up amd disrupted when the things he says do get blown up. If he were Tom Brady and truly confident and able to shrug off all criticism, i might feel differently (oh, and producing on the field would help too). But Griffin hasn't performed well under pressure and scrutiny and thats reason #1 i would prefer he stfu.

I have to agree with Boone. I don't WANT to censor the guy. I don't WANT him to need to stop talking. I don't have any issue with WHAT he said...

What I WANT is a winning franchise. I WANT to see the Redskins be successful. Deeper then that, I WANT to see the result of these last two things. I want to see the media shut up about us as a team and a fanbase. I WANT to see the headline on ESPN talking about how relevant we are on a consistent basis. I WANT to stop hearing about all this nonsense. It's all defeating to hear on such a regular basis, a spun story, a meme, a joke, or a constant and relentless firestorm about us.

The problem is that these are ALL things we, and Griffin, are dealing with. Nothing this guy has ever done has been done with the intent to do harm, cause problems, or stir pots. That being said, it still happens, fair or not. I just wish he would stop. He's been playing better, the right things are coming out of camp, he's been showing (small but sure) steps to developing to what we all agree we need... a starting calibre QB. How about we just play football. Forget the need to say ANYTHING in the pressers, and speak on the field.

we all know the answer to this: it has nothing to do with what we says, when he says it, or to whom he says it. it has everything to do with performance on the field. so sit back...and let it play out its course!

Alfred Morris Part Of ESPN's Ultimate 53-Man Roster

Alfred Morris is most certainly worth it.

ESPN’s Mark Dominik recently released his ultimate 53-man roster (Insider Access Needed) based on players’ 2015 salary cap number. The 53 had to combine to meet the salary requirement and Dominik made sure that the players selected meshed well together.

Of course Morris, who was a sixth-round pick in the 2012 NFL Draft, is quite a steal for any team.

“Morris is more than just a bruiser; he has excellent footwork, which is a big reason he has eclipsed 1,000 yards in each of his three NFL seasons. Entering a contract year, he should be motivated to take his game up a notch,” writes Dominik, who reports that Morris making a little more than $1.5 million this season.

Joining Morris on this team’s stable of running backs are LeSean Mccoy of the Bills, Le’Veon Bell of the Steelers and Eddie Lacy of the Packers.

The Florida Atlantic product has rushed for 3,962 yards and 28 touchdowns. He has a chance to become only the sixth player in franchise history to rush for 4,000 yards and the seventh player in franchise history to record 30 rushing touchdowns this season.

While this is definitely true, I have the feeling they would have pulled this even if it was week 4 unless we are 4-0 at the time. Main difference is it would dissipate faster. Sometimes they just want to make a stink.

You communicate directly and aggressively - like i do at times, like Ax and Fan do. Im not sure what you thought i meant. I'm just saying that can be a strength (for anyone) or a liability depending on how well we control it and are aware if it. Sorry if i didn't state that clearly.
