Random Commanders Thoughts

Longshanks should be on Chester's heels if he's being groomed for the RG spot. Hopefully he blows the hell up in preseason.

Gotta feeling Okeechobee may need to marinate for a season before gunning in as a G.

How in hell did you know I marinate in Okeechobee ? Normally a couple of nice London Broil, then low and slow over hickory.

Geez that sounds good as hell right now. Throw in a baked potato and that's borderline perfect dinner!

Help me I'm lost.
Am I in the NFL Random Thoughts Thread, or the Redskins Random Thought Thread ?
Because I can't tell the difference anymore

A thread that's derailed?!

NO WAY!!!

Wow, no kidding man.
Now the Random Redskin Thought Thread has morphed into the 5 O'Clock's "What's For Dinner" thread ^ ^ ^ ^ ^

I'm thinking Long ends up starting at RG this year--be it on opening day or soon thereafter. I don't see Cujo pushing Lavao quite yet--he's pretty raw. Plus under Callahan and the new emphasis on power, Lavao might prove to be a pretty good fit; he was clearly miscast as a zone guy.

Mind's eye OL here in May:

LT Williams, LG Lavao, C Lich (?), RG Long, RT Scherff

I bet baker gets the nod..he grew up with pot roast, and went to college with him. I'm imagining he gets extra motivated this season.

I like hatcher but his inability to stay healthy is most likely going to push him out of starting rotation.

Ravens snapped him up fast. I bet he isn't making much more than Tracey Porter is set to cost us in 2015 under the cap.

What's the deal with Swearinger? Houston was shopping him for a #6 pick and we weren't interested?

I don't know about his off the field problems but a 25 year old safety with starting experience that was a second round pick?

We have an extra #6 next year.

Hatcher is going to be an effective, but costly pass rush specialist.

I see him like Jumpy Geathers (remember him?).

6'7 295 guy that for 20 plays a game ate offensive linemen up.

But due to durability issues Petitbon limited his snaps.

"Jumpy Hatcher"
Has a good ring to it.

Hatcher doesn't have durability issues - it's a myth. He's missed a little more than a game per season in his career, and never more than 3 games in a season. That's pretty damn durable at his position guys.

He ended last year on IR and he was hurt or missing time for at least the last month of the season.

Hatcher could be a major force if healthy ... a possible game-changer. Unfortunately our lingering memory of him last year is being out, and then invisible when he was out there after his return because he was clearly not right. We won't know until September who the real Hatch is in 2015.

And also unfortunately, we're going to wonder every week if he's going to hold up, until he proves it week in and week out for a while.

With all love possible - no shit :)

Injuries happen. But he doesn't have a significant history of missing time, so that's the good news.

Started camp on the PUP
Ended on IR
Played just 518 snaps

He may not have had a trend but he sure played like he did last year.

Fair enough - he's not a spring chicken. We'll find out whether that's his new norm or if last season was an outlier.

CSN reporting the Skins won't resign Santana. Looks like he has played his last game in Burgundy and Gold if he's not done for good.

Great Redskin, one of my all time favorites.
