Random Commanders Thoughts

Why would we want to ? Redd is costing pennies, and has potential to be a solid contributor.

Helu's departure is exactly why Redd is still here. I'm wondering if he's why Helu is considered expendable.

This move almost makes me think Philly already has a deal in place to move up to grab Mariota. Is that deal with the Raiders or the Skins?

I had been thinking the same thing. I cannot imagine they would have traded Foles for Bradford outright without some other plan in mind to fill that hole. Bradford may be good, but he can't stay healthy.

I tend to agree, plus it seems that Redd doesn't just hit the turf at first contact the way Roy seems to have done throughout his time with us. Not a knock on Roy, I would have been happy to keep him. I think Redd has a higher ceiling overall.

With Redd, the early returns are that he's a dangerous, angry runner who gets yards. He also has an early fumbling problem. What will remain to be seen is whether he can hang on to the rock and become a serviceable receiver and blocker as a 3rd down and change of pace guy for Alfred.

Outside of a game where he carved through Haslett's D like it wasn't there (I know, I'll need to be more specific), Bradford never really impressed me that much. I saw more "flashes" from Foles than Bradford. Not that I watched either extensively...

Isn't Chris Thompson still on the roster? He may factor into the RB depth mix too.

Thompson is not the answer. He is 180 pounds and can't take the pounding in the NFL. He is another speed merchant that is a better athlete than football player.

If Thompson could have helped on punts and kicks he might have earned a spot and gotten some additional chances on offense.

But he has suspect hands as well.

Sounds a lot like Aldrick Robinson, eh?

But it does mean he is not an ideal move the chains third down back like Clarence Harmon, Kelvin Bryant or Brian Mitchell were in the past.

It's telling that Trenton Robinson was signed back and Thompson is still out there.

Robinson has a football skill, he can perform on special teams at a high level.

Thompson has not shown he belongs and now the guy that drafted him is gone.

According to Kiper and Mayock this draft is deep in backs and solid players will be found in the 4th and 5th rounds.

I don't understand why some folks are in panic mode because Roy Helu picked up his suitcase to head to Siberia......I mean Oakland 😹

Did you guys know Chris Baker and Pot Roast are childhood friends? Pot Roast is his best man in Baker's wedding this weekend. Says it's their dream to play together. The money will matter but this could bode well.

That friendship sure dont hurt! But as said, it will still come down to money. All things being equal in offers though...

I am very close to pot roast as well.

Get me some biscuits to sop that gravy up when I take that thing out of the crock pot and watch me work!

:joker:

We sign "Pot Roast." we better find players nicknamed "Taters," and "Carrots," or it just won't be satisfying.....

This is the kind of stuff that irks me. They only have 140 characters, but they were well within their limit to be able to use the proper first name...instead they chose to be salacious. It's Michael Griffin, but I wonder how many hits they'll get for simply saying, "Griffin..."
