I obviously don't agree. I think Colt is the only one not under contract. But it shouldn't be hard to resign him. Robert and Kirk are both signed. Spend time, picks, and money improving the lines and secondary.

For the record, I still believe Robert can be the man. If Robert can't do it, Capt. Kirk can!

Forget playin the tape. This calls for benching, once and for all, without question.
If the OL hasn't gotten the message by now, then a brief video ain't gonna make the slightest difference in their play.
Another thing, why is it the OL coach is never called out, for accountability in our atrocious line play ?

no doubt.... do you give Trent a pass or is he included? I'd say if we were to bench all 3 of them, we'd be in serious trouble this weekend... granted it aint like were in playoff contention right now

depends on if his injury was still a factor.
if he was still hurt, i may give him a pass......but IIRC, I thought I remember Gruden saying that Trent was healthy.
If he's healthy, then I would bench him at least one game, to send a message. It's not like it's going to affect our playoff chances.
And if RG3 isn't immune to benching, then no-one is, including Trent.

if i'm not mistaken, he said that in the presser after the game... before he saw any tape... i cant imagine he agrees with that statement on the 4th down play where Trent and Logan watched the OLB get around the corner and blow by Alf.

Seeing some of the recent plays, I'm wondering if "attitude" is also a major factor in our Line's play, as much as their talent level is a factor - and perhaps more-so.

I'm assuming Gruden has made it impossible to get anything worthwhile for him. That, and I believe the boy has it in him to become a very good NFL QB. I've said on here before, that it still takes 5 years to make a good one. There are exceptions to the rule, of course. We're talking about a guy who has to learn to walk again. I believe his value to us is another year, learning, to see what happens. He's already under contract for next year. Nothing to lose hanging on to him.

find a quote where I said he was the driving force bud. All references I have made to that stretch were to dispute the claim that Griffin has never passed well from the pocket, read defenses well, etc. one of the reasons I have referred to 2012 has been to make the point that what we have seen this season is a major departure from what we saw in 2012 - attempting to add some nuance to all the claims that Griffin is done and cooked career-wise because of 4 games this season. and to get others to join the speculation on what has really been going on: we know some of it is Griffin, we know some of it is a bad o-line...what else don't we know? whether Griffin stays or goes....it would be nice to ultimately understand why such a promising talent...with bona fide results.....fell so steeply and abruptly. there's an interesting story to be told here.

You have touted his performance from 2012. The reason the fall was so far is probably because he is over rated. He could run a scheme suited to his abilities...abilities he no longer possesses. And if anyone suggests that kid is remotely as fast as he once was, they are blind to the facts...willfully ignorant!

in the grand scheme of things...Colt McCOy is a bit player with short-term entertainment value.

And the worst part about it...he currently gives us our best chance at winning.

no QB is going to win in DC until the deeper currents roiling the Redskin waters are calmed. I try not to be distracted by McCoy. for me he represents the typical fan favorite - the latest rider on a white horse - when the former rider has been summarily disposed of. we are very likely to end with another scintillating 3-13 season. griffin will only have played in 4 of those games. there's a lot more going on here than Griffin. It's unfortunate that Washington has demolished yet another QB....but that's not even the most critical issue. until we get at what is rotting the core of this franchise year after year...we can pretty much continue to expect the same results.

as an aside: one man's "played a very solid game" can easily become another man's "played well enough not to lose." if folks are satisfied with Alex Smith...then we should go get him!!!!

I would take Alex Smith over any QB on our current staff. As for the organizational issues...I am afraid that won't be solved until the fans stop making a poor team the 3rd most valuable franchise in football.

Why do I get the worst feeling in my gut that Winston will end up on this team?

Winston will not be a member of this team unless we take a flier on him in the 3rd round. Anyone who really thinks Winston will go 3rd overall is not paying close enough attention to FSU games. And I say this as an alum and huge fan of FSU football. If FSU shocks the **** out of everybody and wins the National Title again, then I could see Winston going in the top 10. In reality, I just don't see anyone taking him that early.

100% right. We often want to point fingers at the players, coaches, and especially the owner, but as a fan base, we haven't lit a large enough fire under Snyder's behind to motivate real change and long term success.

He's won the battle to this point and has manipulated the fans for years, somehow always finding a way for people to get excited about a piss poor product and shell out money.

The only time I can really remember a point in his tenure where fans started openly voicing displeasure and putting a bit of heat on the owner was in Cerrato's final year.

It seemed to work to the extent of getting Cerrato's canned, but Dan worked his magic again, realizing that bringing in a name linked to the franchise's proud history in Bruce Allen would calm the storm.

While Allen has a fancy title, he's nothing more than another puppet in my mind with a bit more credibility football wise compared to Cerrato.

Snyder hasn't changed how business is run for the most part in my estimation. He hasn't matured enough as an owner either to garner sustained success as a franchise either.

Why? Fans aren't making him lose enough sleep at night.

Leave the stadium empty for a few years, let him hit the bottom of the barrel, then see if he comes crawling back to us sincerely.

Until then, we too are playing the role of puppets, much like some of his closest associates in the organization.

I was tempted to go to the Dallass game at the end of the season, but I am not sure I can do it. I cannot take the chance of watching the stadium become a sea of blue again. That was the worst experience I have ever had as a redskins' fan.

I don't see how it will not become a sea of blue, I am sure a lot of people are trying to unload tickets now, and how can you blame them? I know some that are gonna just tailgate and watch the game in the parking lot. At some point that will get Dan's attention, when the stadium keeps filling with fans of other teams, and the Redskin fans are staying in the parking lot....

As crappy as it sounds, I dont think he's going to look at himself if the stadium turns a different color. The money is still green and he'll tell himself that the fans have betrayed the franchise by selling to other teams.

While I understand the sentiment of feeling like a puppet, I've never understood the "leave the stadium empty" tactic. Do people really think Dan Snyder would rather make money than win? Every move the guy has made was because he has wanted to win. We can go through the history and state how almost all of them have been bad moves, but that's because he's an idiot when it comes to football. The money part is frustrating because he will squeeze every penny out of every single aspect of the team win or lose. But hat part of it won't change. Snyder wants to win more than anyone in this city. It's why he bought the team. He just has shown he has no clue how to win.

Not a terribly deep analysis...but consistent with the story you want to tell! even the casual observer can recognize that there are multiple factors in play....some of which you acknowledged long, long before Griffin's decline. I do remember our conversations at Panera my friend! I do remember your posts - going back years - vis the lines.

His speed isn't relevant. See Tannehill running the RO last night? the 5-8 yard scampers can be very disruptive.

I have already presented the reasons for addressing his performance. the fact that that performance earned him Offensive Rookie of the Year suggests there is more to the story than you are willing to tell.
