The Legend
Yeah Brian, that's kind of where I am. I realize I'm pretty emotional right now, and VERY angry and probably incapable of an impartial judgment, but I'm not sure I want to sit through another two years of this shit to see if maybe Gruden can develop into what we need him to. The procedural penalties are a bad sign, his handling of Griffin over the past two weeks has been a disaster, and I'm not seeing the offensive genius we were promised.
We've been targeting someone on the offensive side of the ball, when what we really need is someone who can bring a culture change to DC. We need a leader more than a coach. Bruce is, by all accounts, a really nice guy, and is swell at PR and everything else, but is not a good talent evaluator and clearly doesn't inspire through leadership. First and foremost, we need a leader. The more I think about it, the more I think it doesn't matter what level of the organization it comes from: player, owner, GM or coach. But we have a noticeable, enormous lack of leadership right now and we're adrift.
Bring in Tony Robbins for crying out loud, give him carte blanch to hire and fire and let him go to work. If they want to keep Bruce on a cap genius, great. If they think under the right tuteledge Gruden can blossom as a head coach, great. We need someone with vision who can impact the organization as a whole, without that we're back to wash, rinse, repeat.
