The Richardson deal is widely viewed as a disaster and the primary reason AlMo wouldn't get more than a fourth.

Make, no one loves Morris more than me, but if you can flip him for a second, I think you have to do it. ROI is too good to pass up.

For him as a running back?

You're making this like he's close to 30 and not 23 or 24. He has at least one more full contract before we even think of his replacement.

He's having a bad beginning. The whole team is except Desean. Talking about about guy who's averaged 12-1300 up yards a year because he's having a rough patch is silly to call it nicely.

Silas redd is not proven. You've seen him in college and garbage time. Helu is the closest to Morris and even he is getting easier looks due to 3rd downs and catching out of the backfield. But and rookie over and proven monster? Because he's having a rough patch? I'm not even sure how you can say that without laughing.
 
I question the football intelligence of anyone who thinks we need to trade Almo or that 'he's done'. Sorry. The line isn't blocking for him. It doesn't take a genius to figure it out. He's a top 10 NFL RB, arguably a top 5 if he got some damn help.

You aren't exactly looking like Nostradamus so far this year Mike. We've gone from being a couple of players away from glory with Gruden magic leading the way to needing to trade all our stars because we're so desperately in need of a rebuild. Which is it?

Boone, we have a ZBS running back who is patient and waits for holes to open up before hitting the line.

We have a QB and fans that want max protection. Not a ZBS scheme.

So do u want a great running game with little protection for the franchise QB?

Or do you want a great pocket with bigger linemen? A scheme that doesn't suit Morris?

Build the team around the QB or the RB?
 
Funny...he said earlier this year he is a one cut back..nothing about zone.

if memory serves...I thought Gruden was more of a large o-line/straight-ahead advocate insofar as run game goes?
 
So we have three options the way I see it. Maybe there are more?

1. Trade our RB who has 610 carries over two seasons. RBs don't last long at 300 carries a year.

2. Just say "screw it" and run the ZBS and let RG3 go wild. If he'll agree to it.

3. Do neither, and continue to play a fish out of water. And extend him for another five years.

What's best for the team going forward?

develop an o-line that can run block and pass pro effectively. it's been done before.

He is. And that's not Alfred.

He also runs the WCO, and likes RBs that can catch. Also not Alfred.
 
And you think Silas is going to do what Alfred cant? Why? Because he's proven he can win in the nfl? That's Alfred. Has he proven he can get positive yards after contact in the nfl? That's Alfred, too.

You basically want to get rid of a running back because of thoughts and wishes instead of letting the proven back get out of his funk.
 
What would Bill Belichick do?

Build the team around a RB, or take a second rounder?

Who were those New England RBs in the SBs again? They've slipped my mind.

62 yards a game? You don't think we can replace that?

You wouldn't even think about starting him on your FF team. But we should sign him for another five years again why?
 
You don't have anyone worth even considering.

You aren't considering it's a bad year for him.

You're taking half a season and skewing it to seem like it's all he's ever done.

Why would anything fantasy football have to do with real life? Bettis once had more touchdowns than rushing yards due to getting it at the goal line so much. Sanders was on a horribly losing team and lost yards as much as he gained them. It's called fantasy for a reason.

We are barely ar the halfway mark and out of 3 years he's had one half of a bad year. Until you can come up with a legitimate idea (not a rookie or trade for unproven guy) it makes no logical sense to get rid of him.
 
I totally respect your opinion and thanks for the dialogue.

I just don't believe his running style suits us, and don't see any sense in signing him to five year extension at the end of this season.

Belichick wouldn't even consider it, and I don't believe that we should either.

I'd much rather use that second on a lineman or in our secondary-- somewhere a guy can play for another seven years.
 
It's suited us for 2 years.

Belicheck has let players go he shouldn't have as well.
