Just as what round a player is drafted in has nothing to do with the type of player he will be...where somebody goes to school, or what their GPA is, does nothing to prevent them from being shit simple.

Champ Bailey. Yes he's 36. Yes the Saints just passed on him. Yes he'd only be here a short time like Ryan Clark.

But will we give him a look at either corner or safety for the rest of this year? With Nacho and DHall out, it's a possibility.

A lot will depend on how clean he can stay the rest of the year. But barring another incident, I'd expect him to be the first QB taken.

Book smarts do not equate to common sense and/or good judgment. Jameisbhas neither. The crab leg thing... meh. We've all done stupid things as kids. But this latest thing? AS the Ray Rice thing was going down? Best case scenario, he has preposterously bad judgment, worst case, he's dumber than a box of hammers.

Either way, I don't want him anywhere near my team. Picking him screams Vinny to me, which should horrify all of us.

Tr1, okay. So we're in his third season, and he's yet to finish one. I'm not arguing against him. We're three years in, and he's 0-3 in the health department. It's not the end of the world, but it is true.

It's amazing really.

Against the Jags we got major pressure up the middle by our Dline. Our Oline blocked very well and gave Cousins plenty time. Result? 10 sacks, 41 points.

Against the Eagles, our Oline shut the Eagles front down. Our Dline didn't play as well, and wasn't able to get consistent pressure on Foles. Result? 34 points for our offense. Defense gives up 30.

Giants game? Oline can't block anyone, instant pressure on Cousins almost every play. Defensive line simply not there, zero push up the middle. Result? See Jags game in reverse.

It really is that simple, it's unbelievable. Now, I think the guys we do have can play better than they did against the Giants, especially on the Dline. As for the Oline, this team needs to get Long and Moses up to speed, fast. Stop with the excuses. If they just stink that's a huge problem and every scout should be fired. Enough. We've definitely spent plenty on Oline and Dline via FA and the draft since Shanny arrived.

Scouting and Coaching need to be held accountable. These guys should develop much faster.

Nicely put. I will be watching throughout what is shaping up to be a very tough first season to see how Gruden handles it - specifically the extent to which he is able to keep the players on the bus and playing hard regardless of results, and also how he handles the rabid DC press who love the smell of blood in the water.

Yeah & the DC press LOVES it when the Redskins suck. It makes their job so much easier & less work to actually do. When we're winning & things are good around the campfire, there is very little to report on. Players are in line on & off the field, no one is on the hot seat, no QB controversy...of course, I am assuming all of this since we have really never seen any of that all at once.

I can understand your stance of wanting to watch to see how Gruden handles the adversity & pitfalls of being the HC of the Redskins. Whole different world from Cinci here...well, there. I'm sure I will be watching more than I stated. I simply can't stay away. I just don't think I'll be watching live. I'll find something productive to do during the game & record it, check the final score & if it reflects a loss, I'll erase it & go about my business. If we win, I'll grab a cold one, sit back & enjoy a game.

Redskins fans still living on the hope that the current front office and ownership can re-create the 1980s run.

I firmly believe that we will never see that kind of run here again.

Ya know, you make a valid point here inadvertently. That's the biggest problem with us as a whole. We keep expecting hoping for the 80's again. We keep looking back at the "Glory Days" reliving a time when we dominated the League. We need to get over that & realize that the 80's, for good or bad, are over. Long over.

That's not such a bad thing if we allow it to be. Thing is, what is in our future could be better than the 80's. But that bar is set high. We remember the days when everyone who had us on their schedule groaned because they knew, win or lose, they were in for a fight. Especially in RFK. You didn't come into our house & beat us senseless like that. You might have won the game, but you were beat up in the process. We have to come to the realization emotionally that we are in a new & different era. Patience is the key. But even the most patient of us is wearing down. Too many years of high expectations crashing back to earth.

It's time we put the 80's behind. You're right, we will never have a team like we did in the 80's. I hope it will be better. We could be the first team in League history to 3-peat. But as long as we continue to bring pressure to the FO to relive the 80's & recreate the Glory Days of old, we will never see that.

Oh I think we know the 80's are over, the memories and hope were fanned up again when Gibbs came back but even he couldn't do much in todays NFL besides a couple of playoff years.

A mere taste of the 80's but our fairly recent journeys into the playoff realm were still a lot of fun...... that's what I look forward to. Don't care how we do it or how often a playoff year is accomplished, I'll take it.

Kinda like that perfect golf shot that so infrequently creeps into my game, experiencing that moment in time is what keeps me plugging along.
