Random Commanders Thoughts

Clowney is recovering from a concussion. He missed two preseason games. He's a rookie.

Why are we concerned about him?

I suspect we'll be running early and often in his direction.

Which kind of echoes what I said a few days ago. We are likely going to be seeing Clowney at his absolute career worst. He got dinged up a few times in the preseason and, let's face it, he is a rookie. I'll just ignore how Kerrigan performed in his first-ever NFL game... ;)

So, I just finished a second FF draft. Really good players, including two former collegiate players, and one from FSU. These guys know their stuff.

One thing stood out. Pick #119 was up. And RG3 was still on the board.

I already had a great QB, or I would have taken him at 90 or so.

"No RG3 love?" I typed.

The responses were incredible. I wish I could copy and paste what followed.

Player 1: "He's an asshat."

Player 2: "Biggest douche in the league."

Player 3: "His career's over."

Needless to say, I spent the next three minutes questioning their responses. I took special offense to the douche comment.

Me: "Biggest douche in the league?"

Player 2: " He's the only guy in the league with his own logo. Russel Wilson just won the SB. No logo." Drew Brees, no logo. He's a douchebag."

He was finally taken at 128.

After the draft was over, I saw a message from my brother, a 52 year old lifelong Redskins fan.

"What the hell's wrong with RG3? Did u see the USA Today article? WTF is wrong with that guy?"

So I just read the article. Personally, I understand what RG3 was trying to say, and what he meant.

But I also now have a better understanding of why other fans around the league dislike him.

"I guess if you want to say it, we have a lot to prove to ourselves within this building," Griffin said. "It's about all of us going out there and being successful. Like I've said many times this whole offseason, they go as I go. If I play well, we play well. If I don't play well, we don't play well."

Athletic arrogance? Check.

Bell: Robert Griffin III has plenty to prove, even if he's not admitting it

Doesn't strike me as arrogance. He's the QB....strikes me as a self-evident, matter-of-fcat kinda statement. especially on this team that suffered one bad/average QB after the next for years.

Eh, the message is understood... but he needs to drop the "me' tonality of the statement... come out and say "I need to play better" not, "they dont play well unless i do"

**** the skeptics. And **** the doubters too :) Relatives or not.

So last year afffter the Eagles game, Griffin was ripped for not taking repsonsibility. People said he was blaming everyone else for the teams struggles. He was called a diva and a locker room cancer.

This year, Griffin says that he needs to play well for the team to do well. He takes the ownership everyone asked him to take last year. Now he's arrogant, self-centered, and thinks he's bigger than the team.

I've heard that opinion in several different places this week. It just proves that there is nothing he can say that will make people happy. He just has to win. Because saying what everyone said he should say last year is getting him criticized now.

Just go out and win. Shut them all up.

Stop telling me and show me. Same thing I tell young people who work for me. There's a time for talking about working and a time for just working. It's passed the time to talk about working that ended on the funniest of days... Labor Day. Let's do this already.

I'm with you 100%. I think his message is correct, but like I said, the language is off.

Ryan mallet traded to texans! Hope they start him week one. Although the redskins are famous for making qbs who have never played a down turn into 1 hit wonders.

That's not always true...I'm dating myself here, but we were there for a rookies debut, (some dude named Brett Favre), and saw him throw his first pass. It was also that rookies first INT & pick 6.

We won that day:betterwink:

So a Giants fan, A cowboys fan, & a Redskins fan are all walking up a mountain together, when they start arguing with each other over who is the most loyal & passionate about their team. The Giants fan starts yapping & finishes by saying, "I know I am the most loyal & passionate about my team & I'm going to prove it. THIS IS FOR NY!" And dives off the mountain. The Redskins fan says, "I am truly the most loyal & I'm going to prove it." & grabs the cowboys fan & throws him off the mountain & says, "THIS IS FOR DC!"

HAIL.

Apologize if I've overlooked it but can someone provide a stream link for the game? Very appreciated if so
