Random Commanders Thoughts

Wilson has another clear advantage ... a VERY good team around him.

It's a little easier to be patient as a QB, and "let the game come to you," as he seems to do, when:

- your defense is holding teams to 15.5 points per game (2nd in the NFL) vs the Redskins 30.2 (31st)
- your average starting field position is the 31.3 yard line (2nd in the NFL) vs the Redskins 23.5 (dead last)

No lead is big enough if you're RG3 this year. You are pretty much pressing to score on every possession, and doing it with the worst average starting field position in the league. Tough way to make a living, particularly as a sophomore QB who missed his offseason, has played the better part of 2013 with one leg tied behind his back, and tried to do so behind as bad a pass-protecting offensive line as there is in pro football.

Hahaha haha hahaha
Aw man. Somehow I missed this during the summer, maybe they just didn't say it then because they didn't feel comfortable saying it then.

Per Kevin Sheehan on ESPN 980
griffin and his father went into shanahans office with a list of plays griffin would no longer run

Lol. When Griffin gets the shanahans fired the perfect replacement would be Cerrato. He would coddle RG2 and RG3 to their liking.
I call bullshit. Shanahan is too arrogant to put up with that.

Cousins would have started the season, and the first scripted plays would be from this mythical list.

Well, that was what Kevin Shehan said should have happened.

They have it from a source. They're not known to lie and Sheehan would be the last person to have an axe to grind with anyone in the organization.

But yeah, whatever. Our QB is a ****ing drama queen who thinks he's bigger than the organization. The owner is likely to side with him, only empowering him.

We'll see what happens this offseason but it's shaping up to look like the circus is back in town.

Sheehan is the biggest Shamahan apologist this side of the galaxy. His "source" could simply be his slobbering admiration of Mr. Mike.

Gary Kubiak is about to be fired. Hmmmmmm.

Edited to add that it is official.

I'm confused too. Not sure if our HC would invite him over for supper or something more. Not sure how I would feel about it.

I thought he was inferring that Kyle might be under consideration as his heir (which some have suggested might eliminate one barrier to his Dad staying on in DC if Snyder opts to give him that chance).

I seriously doubt Kyle has a shot at that job.

Wade Phillips is taking over for Kubiak.

Wade would be an excellent defensive coordinator for us. Much like Norvis...terrible head coach, very good coordinator.

I've been saying that for a couple of years now. He knows how to run a 3-4 defense (if that's what we end up keeping).

It’s been 21 years 10 months and 10 days since the Skins were last in the Super Bowl. In that time the team has made the playoff 4 times, had 7 winning seasons (none better than 10-6 and none back to back) and compiled an overall record of 149-198 in the regular season. Nobody born in the last 25 years can remember the glory days. To my kids it’s “Just the funny look in Dad’s eyes when he talks about football sometimes”.

Nobody said the random thought had to be uplifting.....

Last 25?
You could say 30. I'm 29 in 2 months and don't remember the glory days.

I got to see them all, and not only were they real they were SPECTACULAR!!!! Hope you younger guys get to experience a run like that.

Son, you need to take a walk over into this thread

So, our Special Teams sucks, but we can't use the cap penalty as an excuse, because this guy would have practically been free, and would be an improvement over what we got.

They can't use the cap penalty as an excuse because they just restructured a bunch of guys to make the cap work anyway. And if they really wanted another player they could have restructured a few more. The cap penalty isn't really an excuse at all. This team just sucks. I mean they resigned Fletcher to a decent deal only to watch the dude turn into an observer to 95% of all defensive plays, while his replacement who can actually play isn't learning how to lead from the position. As if we'd be much worse than the defense we have now. How about next year? Oh yeah, we'll have that guy on the field clueless. Yeah, we are building for the future though.
