Random Commanders Thoughts

No, I don't believe the side effects of CTE are visible until years down the road. In fact most of the research comes from studying the brains of deceased former players.

We do have a list of people he's gone helmet to helmet with, some of which have been knocked out of games.

people get knocked out of games all the time because of hits - see RGIII and B-More last season.

further...you want to take away someone's living based on an unknown outcome? I don't know about that.

Your argument is more solid if you just keep to the "league says it's not legal and he's a repeat offender" line.

Yes, I want to take away his living when he goes about it by endangering others' living. The flags suck and hurt our team but it's not what makes me disgusted by him. Him clearing attempting to knock people out is what disgusts me.

I like pancakes. I often make them with strawberries and lots of golden butter so that they're team colors.

I don't think GB would take Davis. They tend to stay away from guys with attitude problems.

NE will take risks though on these kind of players.

Has GB kept the same WR coach for a while? I wouldn't mind stealing him away to get more out of our guys.

The #Redskins have used 18 players on offense all season - the fewest in the NFL. They have used 52 on special teams - the most in the NFL.

Article has Davis listed as #1, on the Top 10 "most likely to be traded before deadline", and New York Jets, Baltimore Ravens, Kansas City Chiefs as the most likely suitors.

They also have the Skins as a likely landing spot for Jason Babin from Jacksonville, and Bills' Safety Jairus Byrd

Top 10 candidates to swap teams at the trade deadline - NFL.com

What is the fascination with the 32 year old Babin?

The Redskins were after him last year but that was after Orakpo was lost for the season and before Rob Jackson came on to start.

I can't believe they think we're a potential trade partner for Byrd, when the reason they want to dump him, is because he wants to be the league's highest paid safety. That should make us the first team ruled out, not the first potential landing spot.

Best stat of the year. Thanks for posting. I will say though, that our record has little correlation to the our offensive stats. This year in particular, you must watch the games, and factor in what your see rather than stats. I read today in Dallas Morning News that Redskins Defense leads the NFC East statistically. I don't buy it. We still have the Broncos and Chiefs.

I skipped the game in Denver this weekend even though I had a flight and hotel and plans... Instead I'm on an epic roadtrip.

Sooooooo...... I had breakfast on the Hualapai Indian Reservation in AZ today, of course wearing my REDSKINS hat. Several people asked where I was from, where I got my hat, etc.... Spoke to a half dozen men about football, the REDSKINS specifically and surprisingly how well the Chiefs are doing this year. I was able to ask 4 men and 1 woman what they thought of the team name.....

I'll paraphrase ... basically they have no issues at all with the team being named REDSKINS and do not feel it should be changed. Its super old school to even use it any other way and its not something anyone cares about.

Also, I met Frederick, a young man who works at the 76 in Tusaysn, AZ who claimed to be full blood Navajo and is a vocal REDSKINS fan. He saw my hat, my sort of burgundy and gold motorcycle and my Sean Taylor halo sticker and went nuts. He knew every player, his favorite player is Alfred Morris. He joked that the REDSKINS got their name from their coach. I LoL'd. He said he understood that some find it offensive but that he didnt know anyone personally who ever talked about it like that.

I'm sure I'll meet some more people who have the right to be offended by our team's name on this trip.... I'll let you all know if I run into Mike Wise.

And all 3 other teams have already played the Broncos. This weekend will level those stats out, but I do believe our Defense has made LARGE strides since week 1.

I think our defense has been the victim of a terrible start by our offense this year. They cannot be placed back on the field after a 3 and out as often as they were to begin the season. We are not a top 10 defense, but are not terrible either. If our offense had a few drives that were not 1 play because of a turnover or 3 & outs, the defense would have had a little more success.

Looks like Denver's D is tops with 77 rush yards against per game.

Meh, it's not like Kyle would call run plays anyway,so probably a shoot out.

Meh indeed. Denver plays with such big leads they don't get run on much. Also, the only two teams they've played with any decent running game were the Eagles and the Colts. Both dropped over 120 yards on them. I think we'll be able to run the ball fine. Running is what we hang our hat on. We shouldn't get away from it if we don't have to.

Oh no doubt, running is where this gameplan should be at. We do it well and anything that keeps Payton off the field is a plus.

Reed Doughty is officially *out* for the Denver game. Didn't even make the trip. Not good news.
