Random Commanders Thoughts

I hope Minnifield can stay healthy because mentally he seems way ahead of most recent draft picks and free agents in knowing how to prepare at this level.

He doesn't seem to want for confidence, perhaps that's from growing up with a pro bowl corner at home.

Here's a link to a segment from ESPN 980's The Drive (Cooley, Czabe, Galdi)
ESPN 980 Audio Vault - Play Now

The start of it is an interview with Logan Paulsen, at the 20 minute mark they do the play calls I was talking about earlier.

Oh god...Orakpo just limped into the medical tent with trainers, checking his right leg.

He's riding the bike now, sounds like it was a cramp or a muscle pull.

It seems every disgruntled ex-Redskin from Mark May to Mark Schlereth to Brian Mitchell and even Vinny Cerrato is able to get a radio or TV gig. Now we have to suffer through McNabb routing against the team for 16 weeks.

The one that irks me the most is Randel El doing sideline reporting during preseason.

At least the rest of them are away from the organization and easily ignored.

Mitchell is the only one with a legit beef. He was released after scoring the Skins only TD on a 100 yard return against the Bucs. He was replaced with creaky old Deion whose speed was gone because of the toe injury in previous campaigns. Remember the ball hitting Sanders in the face mask on one return?

That's Vinny for you.

Yea But El isn't disgruntled is he? he might not have worked out as we like but that's one guy I have a lot of affection for as a fan. REALLY good guy by all accounts, plus he's a natural with a mic and interviewing. He's one of the ex athletes who SHOULD have a gig in sports media IMO as opposed to idiots like Hugh Douglas and McNabb.

Agreed but he couldn't let it go and turned it into a decade long agenda to piss all over anything Redskins. It's when he went from a beloved, old school, throwback type player to "Bitchell" to me. He has retained the mantra ever since with his words and actions. I wish he'd hit the showers for good along with Lavar and McNabb with one caveat..he at least seems to have a freakin clue about the game, Lavar makes me ashamed I ever rooted for him.

I guess not. I think I'm the one that's disgruntled. :)

Training camp is over.
New weight room, gourmet kitchen, and basketball court at Redskins Park

If you don't listen to Chris Cooley's radio show you're missing out on cool inside stories about the redskins and how they've operated over the last 10 years :)

Cooley says he has inside information and his money is on new stadium being in Virginia.

Other notable fines from Pelissero's report include Titans safety Bernard Pollard ($10,000), whileSeattle Seahawks cornerback Antoine Winfield, Washington Redskins tight end Fred Davis and rookie safety Baccari Rambo, Miami Dolphins defensive back Jimmy Wilson and Dallas Cowboys safety Eric Frampton were fined $7,875 apiece for late hits or unsportsmanlike conduct penalties.

Haha that lame ass celebration Sleepy did cost him almost $8k. That'd be really funny if it wasn't sad. Rambo better be careful or his signing bonus might be gone before the season starts!

Y! SPORTS
