Random Commanders Thoughts

Was quite disappointed to read this morning that Dan Snyder and RG3 attended the preview of Oblivion together.

That was the kind of player favoritism that undermined the coaches in the past and he (Snyder) has seemed to not learn from the past. I know Robert is no Clinton Portis but it sets a bad example.

Fanboy Danny needs to check his need to be seen with celebs and go back to whatever he was doing between November 5th 2012 and January 5th 2013... Douchebag better not let any of his douchieness rub off on our star.

A large portion of that cap space we "may" have next year should go to locking down the players we currently have who should be extended...a practice not familiar here in Washington.

got to pay the guys who helped this year

But we must remain prudent

I don't know how "large" a portion though - $40-50M is an astronomical cap number! Think about the contracts we've signed with $10M in space, now quadruple to quintuple that! If used wisely, they'll have plenty of money for all our re-signing vets plus key FA acquisitions.

Think it was a shot at the dr. s @ the old andrews institute though

rewatching the week 17 game against the cowboys.

even with a gimp knee and a two score lead griffin ran on the field when we got the ball back. he's awesome.

dez Bryant is a sissy.

Skins let it out to the locals a while back but a "major story" about the Fed getting field improvements aint' getting much mainstream explosion that I've seen.

Essentially, they're improving the drainage, repairing some of the original stuff, re-sodding the whole field and in Nov. re-sodding the field between the numbers goal to goal. Reason for just between the numbers is to leave established sod on the outside and allows the new stuff to take hold better in between. It seems that other grass stadiums in our zone do the same thing with good results.

The field underwent a “major renovation” and will feature a better drainage system and a cement walkway behind both teams’ benches, according to the team-owned radio station.

ESPN 980’s Chris Russell also reported via Twitter that the Redskins will re-sod the middle of the field “for the 1st time in stadium history” starting Nov. 4. After hosting the Chargers a day earlier, the Redskins do not play in Landover again until they host Colin Kaepernick and the 49ers on Monday Night Football 22 days later.

gotta make that turf look good for the big game :2thumbsup:

I'm not on the bandwagon of bashing the team for the field that many people across this nation have joined. Yeah it was crappy, but plenty and I mean plenty of fields have been as bad if not worse... Pit and SF come to mind. The PFT blaming every injury that happened in the league last year on the fed ex turf is beyond annoying too.

Glad that they're trying to fix it. However, they're not getting any golf claps from me until next winter when we get a look at the final product. Maybe a few less Kenny Chesney concerts and a little more playoff football is all we need. At any rate, seems they are trying to save face by advertising the changes... just do it and shut up, if it works then good for you.

The first guy that blows out a knee on loose sod will cause a whole new uproar.

Yeah, I agree. I guess I'm old school when it comes to the playing surfaces.
Mud games used to be a kick to watch, now the NFL pundits expect PGA standards for playing surfaces and whine just the same when that standard is not met.

If nothing else, since Snyder has handed over the keys to the team ops, his focus seems to be on the local venues. I guess that's a good thing.

how about we stop having college football games and concerts during football season.

the field was messed up before the games even started.

If you want to have grass I respect that but you have to come up with a viable way to protect it from non-redskins activities. Or like you said... stop having them. :)

Not sure if this has been posted but...

As @ZacBoyer reported, source confirms #Redskins CB Josh Wilson reworked his deal this week. His cap number dropped $2 mil to $3.3 mil.
