Random Commanders Thoughts

Yeah... FedEx's video people aren't the greatest. Neither is their clock operator.

the number of times the game had to stop so the refs could ask the clock operator to get his/her **** together...

Not at caps games :(

Edit: I've been to 6ish caps game in the last 4 years, 1 was a playoffs game. So maybe I wasn't paying attention. Definitely seemed less commercial oriented and more game/stats/replay/pump up video related.

Well, I was referring to NFL stadiums and replays. Also, Redskins stadium does have some hype stuff, like the big man pounding defense chant, lol. And some hype videos. I think that's more to do with the Caps fans than anything, they're a bit more rowdy and involved in my experience. More like soccer fans. You'd never get something like an "Unleash the Fury" scream at FedEx, IMO.

Also, I haven't been to a game since the weekend of Brouwer's hat trick last season (~January), but I don't recall them replaying opponent's goals. I could be mis-remembering also. Getting to that age....

I'd like to hit John Mara in the face with a dead possum.

I'd love to see that.

Did O'Hara retire? I missed that.

They're just all referencing the question of RG3 coming back. I think that's comical, they are SO hoping something goes wrong and by all accounts not only is it not going wrong but it's on a record pace to go right.

The Eagles really are a mystery. They could be very similar in terms of production next year but who knows Kelly might be such a change that they come out and shock a bunch of folks. I'm guessing it's more SOS stuff if he brings he "system" to the pros. He's already given me the impression he's a lot more dialed in, astute and studious than Spurrier ever was though.

I wouldn't have a huge issue if people picked the Giants over us, simply due to the uncertainty about Griff's injury. But the Cowboys? Seriously? The Cowboys suck. EVERY YEAR. Their QB chokes. EVERY YEAR.

And the Eagles? What's so different this year? Chip Kelly? How in God's name can we have any idea if his schemes are SO much better than Andy Reid's? Frankly, Reid is one of the best coaches of the last 15 years, thinking Kelly is anything but a downgrade is pie in the sky, imo.

But Goal, according to the media the Iggs are "the new hotness" while last year's Skins are "old & busted". Of course, we know how that turns out.

In honor of RG3's comments about the Boys. Yep, us haters gonna hate! ;)

Every single time I Drive Alligator Alley I can't help but get really pissed thinking about Sean Taylor's murder weapon being here somewhere. :(

For you guys in and around the area, how much do the players get out and involved with the community? Like with food drives, and good charitable events.

Chip Kelly to me is Spurrier version 2.0.

Hot, gimmicky offensive-oriented coach whose system and philosophy are likely not going to translate well to the NFL game.

Did you see the Eagle's draft, also? Mostly players Kelly had coached against in the PAC-12. Not a good prognostic sign when your new head coach is still thinking very limited when it comes to talent acquisition (Remember how Spurrier brought in all of his B-rated ex-Gators to play for the Skins? This kind of smells like that to me)

Often. Orakpo's charity golf tournament for kids with lukemia is coming up.

With all the roster turnover it's down right now because that stuff takes time in the area to get going. Lorenzo Alexander had a few things going on, one was a bike riding event if I remember correctly. Fletcher does stuff with kids too taking them to museums and moments and stuff.

Well good on Rak and Fletch then. I like seeing it when local athletes get out and meet the commoners to do good deeds.

Around here the Alaska Aces are all over the place with their volunteering and I was curious how the skins did in that area.

It's hard to get a handle on all that the guys do, not exactly mainstream media material, too "fluffy" or the events just don't get the pub 'cause that's the way they like it.

Most of the stuff I see/hear about is found on the team.com.

What I do see usually involves quite a few of the guys, just recently they had a bunch of kids out to Ashburn to play in the bubble and interact with several players who were coaching them up...
