I'm such a sucker. I was making fun of this documentary a few weeks ago and now I can't wait for it to air.
 
Crawford tore all three ligaments in his knee. Sucks...pretty sure that's a wrap on his career at this point. Maybe he'll get another shot next year, but I highly doubt it. Hopefully Griffin can get him healed up nicely!
 
That sucks I really liked crawford and he provided one of the more memorable moments for me as a fan.

The dreaded Willis McGahee injury. He can come back from that at his age but it certainly won't be easy.
 
They waived Crawford today with "injury designation." Is that the same thing as an injury settlement? If not, how can they cut someone injured players but othres they have to cut with an injury settlement?

I think Jordan Reed was drafted to take Paul's roster spot. I don't think there is any way that they keep 4TEs...maybe for the first few games of the season until Jenkins and Jackson come back, but no longer than that.

Washington Redskins: There was no aspect of the Redskins' offense that Griffin did not affect in a monumentally positive sense. Griffin is not just another Velveeta spread-boosted quarterback better outside the pocket than in it—unlike Vince Young, Jake Locker, and (gasp) Tim Tebow, he is totally comfortable when asked to stand in the pocket, scan his reads, and fire the stick throw under pressure. Watching the week 17 game again (hey, I went home sick) hall had an amazing game. Haslett called a great game. There should have been 7 or 8 interceptions that game.

If we go into the season with upgraded personnel in a few spots and that type of fire we will have a nasty defense.

If Crawford and Kimbrough clear waivers, they will revert to injured reserve for the season. In other words, they will be on IR for us by late tomorrow afternoon.
 
I don't want moss returning kicks.

I don't want his career to end with a knee injury returning a kick. We need him as a solid #3 WR. Let one of the other guys do it.
 
The development of Hankerson and Robinson probably signals the end of Niles Paul's tenure here.

If the team had a hole at the fifth WR spot the team could keep Reed and move Paul back to backup WR and let him return kicks and play ST.

But the team is better now than it was a year ago and that extra spot is no longer available.
 
I'd give Robinson a shot. I don't necessarily want to risk his health, but he could be dangerous in that role.

not sure BT. Paul is a stalwart on special teams. they have also expanded his role set this training camp to include blocking back duties.
 
Listening to national sports talk radio and seeing some of the football shows on tv, I do not believe I have seen a defending division champion more disrespected than the Redskins have been.
When the topic turns to "who will make the playoffs" or "which team that was in the postseason last year, will not return" the Skins are usually the number one answer.

Gonna be fun watching them backpeddle this year. ;)
 
It's a good thing I am burgundy and gold obsessed. Because if I wasn't, we'd be hip deep in a lawsuit suing our server host.
 
Part of the disrespect comes from the perception that Griffin not only won't be ready for the regular season start but will probably miss significantly more time. Whether that's true or not we will see.

The other part of it is that outsiders who don't follow the team on a regular basis fail to recognize the number of key players that were not on the field for Washington during last season's 7 game run to the playoffs who are back this season.

Brian Orakpo, Fred Davis and Roy Helu are playmakers. You add a 10-12 sack player to the defense that changes a lot. On offense, the Redskins didn't have a pass receiving threat at TE the last 9 games of the season and won anyway. Now, we do. That should make us much harder to defend on third downs and in the red zone. Last year, the Redskins also didn't have a speed complement to Alfred Morris, Royster is a between the tackles runner. Helu re-introduces the threat of the big play from the backfield via the run or pass.

I saw one article that talked about the Cowboys drafting Travis Frederick and improving on the OL, but that to me is more hopeful thought than hard analysis, no one knows what Frederick will bring as a rookie as he has not played a down in an NFL game yet.

The returning Redskins on the other hand are all proven in NFL play and seem a much better bet to improve the team from within.
 
That RG3 documentary was good last night. Truth be told, I was expecting it to be pretty awful--a 60 minute Subway commercial.

As it turns out, it was probably only 6 minutes of Subway, and the rest was pretty good.
