He kind of has a point. I don't know if I like HOW the message was sent, but maybe it needs to be said. Not just for Griff but for the whole locker room. He's not wrong.
It's not just one game though. If you really think the Vikings game was a remarkably solid performance, I have to question if you watched that game either.
He had some solid play in that game, but it was strife with missed opportunities and poor decisions. Remarkable it was not...solid in some areas...poor in others was more like it.
He made some good decisions yesterday, some very bad ones...again.
Everyone is looking for a scape goat and are quick to jump on him. We sucked in almost every facet of the game yesterday, all except Alfred Morris. Robert gets no pass, but I will not make him the scape goat either.
However, you have to question the team's lack of motivation with him on the field and wonder why Colt was able to push this poorly talented team against the Turds.
I am not saying Colt should start...he shouldn't. As long as Robert is healthy, he should be behind center. Some people simply need to start seeing what more and more people do...Robert won with a scheme to fit his ability. And that is coming from former players/pundits/coaches...not just certain fans who thought this was his destiny in the NFL.
This isn't a shot at RG3. Jackson has already defended him.
He's likely talking about the o-line.
It's obvious. It's talked about by the analysts. It's mentioned here daily.
We continue to find mediocre talent on the lines. We will never win with bad linemen.
Brady, Rodgers, Brees...all of them would look bad behind this line.
I hope Colt does get a start to show everyone that he, too, will look bad behind that line. We're about to throw away our most talented qb since the 80's because of our half-assed talent evaluators who simply don't value line play.
That's they way I took his comment too, but you know people in the media will play this up.

You are investing too much energy in the cowturds game. there's a whole history that goes back decades. it's the one team hazmat seems to know how to defense. I also think you are confusing the results with a report card on Colt. IMO all Colt did was not screw it up. he didn't do anything spectacular - in fact, he also demonstrated incompetence tossing an int when in scoring position. it was the two dbs who were the difference makers in that game - and a dallass brain trust that couldn't figure what the rest of the league understands...that the secondary can't execute basic schemes.
the problem....nicely summarized by the czabe link you posted: if not Robert...then what? I see no plan on the horizon. RGIII may not be the answer...but we need to play this out to the end IMO. that includes building a top tier o-line. if he messes that up, then he's done.
in truth...I think the bigger issues lie with how the FO/operations is structured...and the impacts that has had all the way down to the coaching staff. that seems to be the lone constant all these years.

They'll get to Garcon's comments on twitter next hour.
We have to expect a bunch of this stuff after a loss like that, and honestly, who could blame Jackson or Garcon for being pissed? They're in their prime, and I'm sure they're frustrated.
We have some fantastic skill position players, but the franchise as a whole is very basic, from ownership to the fans it's like a virus.
They already have... Yahoo just posted an article saying Jax was firing back at Griff's post game comments.

I hope everyone in that locker room reads that for was it is... prints it off and looks at it every day. He's right. We have a very basic lockeroom. We have some fantastic skill position players, but the franchise as a whole is very basic, from ownership to the fans it's like a virus.

That Yahoo link didn't seem to work for me, but I'm not surprised at the speculation.
For what it's worth, I saw this post from Rich Tandler that puts the RGIII comments in their full perspective.
Did RG3 compare himself to Manning, Rodgers? | Rich Tandler's Real Redskins
That's utter bullshit! Who can blame them? Their teammates, the fans, the coaches - that's who. You're either part of the problem or you are part of the solution. I don't care how talented you are, we'll see who cares about this team and who cares about themselves over the next several weeks. I would honestly rather lose with team guys than win with a bunch of selfish, finger-pointing pricks.

So Brian, when the team reeled off 7 straight wins in 2012 - I guess that was despite their not respecting Robert and his leadership and skills?
McCoy outplayed Griffin because he executes the offense exactly the way Gruden designs it and wants it played. Griffin could learn fro that, but I don't think the offense playing down to the competition has anything to do with Griffin - this team has consistently done that regardless of who is under center.
I didnt see anywhere that said that. The message said "You cant do epic sh*t with basic people"
I can easily read someone including them in that message.. Nowhere does it say "You're better then the rest of them" or "dont let bad teammates get you down" or something along those lines.

It certainly felt like to me that he was elevating himself above the 'basic people' which even if true, I don't like it being said like that.
Now, maybe DeSean is pulling the wool over everyone. Maybe he really means you can't do sh*t with basic fans. ;-)

You are trying to have it both ways Brian. On the one hand you are issuing non-I-told-you-so I-told-you-so's, while also covering your ass with 'but of course we need to ride this out to make sure'
I was not referencing his performance on the field 2012 vs. ever since. I was addressing what I believe you are implying, that somehow his teammates 'don't want to play' for Griffin. I think if that's what you're saying g, you need to explain why they were so willing to play for him on 2012 but not now.
