Very true, even elite QB's will run into defenses that throttle them sometimes. I guess the point I was making is that the probability goes up of beating a strong defense if you have an elite QB. For example, I don't think Darnold played a particularly great game, (in fact he threw at least a couple passes early that I am surprised weren't ran back into the endzone by the Pats defense) but Seattle was good enough overall that it never really came down to Darnold needing to shoulder a whole lot. The question is whether or not that type of team build is capable of sustained winning versus a magical season where everything seems to go right. Are the Seahawls going to be the next Eagles where as soon as that defense isn't shutting the opponent down, will their QB be able to make up that ground. On the other hand, a Championship is a Championship and they are rare & hard to achieve so I suppose you go and get one however the hell you can!

^ I always love watching old Jim Brown, Riggins and Earl Campbell clips, they just trucked LBs and DBs.

Sadly with the way many of our defenders have tackled in recent years, we allowed Meh RBs look like these 3 studs
 
Riggins at 235 pounds was the size of 1980's middle linebackers.

One quick note on the passing of Sonny Jurgensen - I like the point made by Tom Brady that he is underappreciated today and that his passing stats in an era where it was a run first league with the rules to match made his performances all that more impressive.

Brady can be a jerk and an opportunist at times but he does have an interest like Troy Aikman in the history of the game, something you can't say for some of the ESPN and other broadcasters whose knowledge of the NFL only seems to go back to Peyton Manning and Drew Brees.

I used to think Tannenbaum was a moron. But I see now his madness was actually genius.
 
OK, I can't find any confirmation anywhere online---my neighbor just came by to visit with her pups and she told me that Riggo has passed away. Like I said, I can't find anything on it, and don't want to report misleading news.

Dang. If so it definitely hasn’t been reported anywhere yet. He’s currently in the news for selling one of his legacy memento jerseys for almost half a million
