Random Commanders Thoughts

Rivera would be a very good face of the organization as a president or something ceremonial centric.

The problem is that he is not a very good coach, talent evaluator, or roster builder.

He should be what Doug Williams is right now...

YouTube recommended these highlights today. I remember this game vividly. It's wild that it was 16 years ago. For as disappointed as we all were in the second Gibbs run, it still produced some memorable moments. This game was one of them. Santana Moss was amazing this game.

My left hand will never, ever go up.

Cringe factor off the charts.

Oh man, put my foot in my mouth there! Respect.

Wow! Better lucky than good. That ref saved an int

Do you trust this coaching staff to begin Sam Howell’s playing career or would you rather wait for the new coaching staff?

Excellent point. I would 100% say that if anyone likes Howell, he should not play under Turner. Turner is QB poison, feeding into some of a QB's bad tendencies over encouraging winning tendencies.

I would just hate to see Howell get Ramsey’d before he has a real chance.

I said this in chat.....with an average time of 6.5 months to finalize a deal does that mean we won't see a major staff overhaul? If not, maybe Rivera could can Turner, but I suspect we see at least Rivera next year if a new ownership happens.

I don't mind Rivera being here next year as much as Turner being here. In a real environment where you are judged on performance and results matter, Turner would never have survived the way he has.

Turner continually being here is why Rivera needs to go, more than anything else. There are other reasons, but that is #1 in my book.

I am ready to see Sam Howell given a shot…but not this week.

Vs Houston, Atlanta, NYG, NYG? Yeah.

I'm not sure I want to see Howell on the field. Not with Turner calling the plays. The man can't even call plays for Taylor, a guy he has worked with for years now. How the hell will he do with Sam?

Heinicke was bad yesterday. The playcalling was terrible too. But I'm not sure bad playcalling caused Heinicke to be bad, you know what I mean? We aren't going to the playoffs or beating good teams with this coaching staff. I do think we need to see Howell on the field against starters. It would at least give us some idea whether he is a potential future starter. Knowing Rivera and his delusional view of where this team is, he won't see the field in 2022.

That’s the key for me. Gotta test drive a car before you buy it.

Honestly, Heinicke has not been good since he regained the starting position. He's had a few amazing throws and a few nice drives, but the reason we won is the game was close enough that one good play mattered. Yesterday, the game was close enough that one bad play mattered.
