I'm sure there are people here that know more about cars than I do (I don't know much) and can recommend a cheaper alternative. I'm pretty sure RainX is basically just a wax, but again you'd have to talk to someone that knows more than me

but that stuff rocks. not only does it protect your windows against pitting but it makes driving in the rain so much easier/safer.

it's not hard to apply either, takes an hour. just make sure your windows are completely clean first.

Man, I have this same problem. Well, I have friends who "play," but not as much as I'd like to. The only ones who do now have a kid or two and are pretty much occupied on the weekends. Argh.

Yeah, same here. My friends that have clubs want to go play at 10 AM because they don't wake up before noon unless they have to.

I want to go play at 7 AM so I can be done by 11 AM and get other stuff done.

So I basically only wind up playing when I'm visiting my sister-in-law since her husband plays - as long as he's not out to sea at the time.

About 15 years ago I drove my Subaru wagon from NoVA to here in pouring rain and snow with no wipers (the arm on the driver's side broke) and had no probs. Swear.

I love golf too - bought some nice clubs last year but have only played once. I can drive the ball pretty impressively and pitch well. Everything else is suspect

Sounds like a bgo golf outing is needed! When I was in the business world and had a cc membership I played 10-20 rounds a month...In the past decade I have played a dozen times.

I bought a samsung note 10.1 tablet. It sync'd with my google and samsung accounts flawlessly and all of my android apps were loaded and sync'd in under an hour. Damn Costco...they got me again!

Just an FYI dont use the stuff (RainX) on plastic windows of any kind, it will reduce their life expectancy greatly. No plexi or vinyl. Trust me.

I have tried a lot of temperature probe systems for my grills. I find that often times, the temperature gauges that come with a particular grill fail or become inaccurate over time, plus the location of the 'sensor' is often at the top of the grill and not accurately measuring the temperature of the grate location itself. I've had the 'MEATER' system which, when it worked, worked great, but I frequently had problems getting it to work correctly. I've had a Big Green Egg system that included a blower to maintain a set temp for a long cook. Great concept, only problem is that they don't tell you to remove it immediately after the cook is done, and I got two uses out of it before the mostly plastic fan parts melted. Very expensive mistake.

I happened to see a ThermoPro probe kit at an Academy Sports store (which btw, has the most comprehensive grilling equipment section I have ever seen in a store including some very hard to find rubs/sauces). I was skeptical because the ThermoPro was very reasonably priced. It comes with a rechargeable base unit with 4 temperature probes. You can use one or more of the probes to measure grate temp. The app is reliable and extremely simple to use. And the whole system is incredibly reliable and accurate.

I wish I had found this a long time ago. Has made things much easier to manage and it is easily the most reasonably priced app-based system I have seen. Highly recommend.

I drove from VA to ATL in a snowstorm with no wipers, thank God for this stuff.
I use the windshield washer fluid too.

I bought my first food processor, a Cuisinart model, 37 years ago. It still works but the center spindle that drives the blade is loose and can't be fixed. I finally gave in and bought a new one on Amazon today.

37 years is an impressive lifetime for a kitchen appliance. Will see how the modern equivalent holds up (I don't think I'll need it to last 37 years this time!).
