Pick your poison - what do you want the new name to be?

Hell, I grew to like Washington Football Team and wished it had remained over the new one. So I suppose over time the new one will be accepted.

I will remain a Redskins fan for the remainder of my days though.

After thinking about it all day, the way it all went down is definitely affecting my opinion. The whole thing is just a mess. The name itself, the uniforms, it’s all just kind of meh for me. It’s not the worst name and it’s not the best. The uniforms are what they are. I’m 44 and I’ve never been one to be in style and I understand the style of the younger generation is different than mine. Whatever they came up with in that front would probably not be my cup of tea, even if they will grow on me at some point. But 2 years of waiting and all the hype for this? Now I know what it’s like to be a cowboys fan and be sold hype for a long time only to be let down.

Clearly they aren’t trying to appeal to me. As others have mentioned, this whole thing was designed to appeal to new fans and people that aren’t fans. I get trying to grow the fan base, but you can’t keep pissing on the current fans and tell them it’s just a little rain. I kind of feel like they have a disdain for the fans who were Redskins fans and are fine if “those fans” don’t want to be part of the new name. This disconnect between the organization and the fans may have hit an all time high today.

And the icing on the cake is screwing up the Super Bowl dates on the crest. Has the team even addressed this? I’m guessing there will be some ridiculous spin about how only they understand the dates, but this really bugs me. This is so fundamental to the team history. Messing this up is inexcusable.

I know this will grow on me and eventually I’ll get over it, but today definitely is a kick in the nuts and the front office is just laughing and smiling about it.

It's such a simple thing, but it just reeks of how big the disconnect is. ESPECIALLY after they've only just been pushing a whole crapton of videos and interviews and things CELEBRATING the anniversary of that Superbowl.

Do we know if anyone has asked them directly about these dates and challenged their thinking? All the other stuff, I'm pretty much whatever. Picking a new name was a no-win situation. But you have to get your basic facts right! Did anyone sit in the room and say these dates aren't a good idea?

One thing it doesn't address is the ridiculous gaffe of using the wrong years to ID the Super Bowl wins.

The instrument capable of measuring the level of deaf dumb and blindness it took to run with that has not yet been invented.

Reading that article, Keim sites the wrong dates too:

He starts off right, then ends wrong. I feel like this is a marketing strategy from these dopes. Maybe it was just a typo on Keim’s part, but it seems like they are intentionally marketing the wrong years. If they can get their most popular beat reporter to repeat it (either by mistake or subconsciously), it’s going to take off.

Seems the team was so worried about offending a couple virtue signalers that they picked the most absolute ‘meh’ name possible. Theyre still not getting it when it comes to this franchises tradition, & appears never will.
