PFT: Kirk Cousins has a sprained right foot

doubt it. he had a role in Morris' success - 0-line has to work as a unit.

Zero line? I thought you were trying to talk them up. :nana: Let's be real, run blocking WAS half of his job last year and this year pass blocking will be more important. If I was only good at half of my job and utterly sucked at the other half, well I'd be looking for a job... habitually. I get where you're coming from but he's a friggin matador and not upgrading that position is a major mistake.

OLAY muther****ers!!

They didn't utterly suck .. Not even close to that. Do we need to improve , yes. The line overachieved given their talent level. You guys make it sound like Griffin was running for his life on every down and was sacked a record # of times.

OLAY muther****ers!!

let's review the bidding:

1) I noted that Polumbus is a risk - particularly in pass pro.

2) you then made some statement that means something to the effect that everyone in the football universe knows Polumbus "is garbage"

3) as a Redkskin fan who appreciates what was accomplished last year and remembers the Shar Pourdonishes (sp?) of the world, I tried to balance that sentiment with recognition of the upside for Polumbus. I ultimately want his position "upgraded", but he's not a total rock.

4) Morris doesn't run for 1600+ w/o a combination of smart scheme AND good line play!

anywho, enjoy your day!

But fans can never see things this way.
It's always going to be one end of the spectrum or the other, in the fan's eyes. Never average or close to it.
Either a team's unit totally sucks, or they are glorious.

Cofield made 3-time pro-bowl center Maurkice Pouncey his bitch all night. I think NT is fine. I was more worried about London - he wasn't reading & reacting as fast as he used to, and was out of position a few times. We need London to be near the top of his game if this D is going to dominate this year.

I would be surprised if Polumbus starts 16 games. Pashos is a much better RT overall, especially in the passing game. And he does have some experience at guard from his days in Baltimore, so he is more versatile than has been lead on.

The problem for Tony is coming back after missing a year and a half with the injuries. He is just getting back into shape.

If he can approximate the player he was previously, over the course of the year I think you could see a change.

I want to see Compton take over the RT spot. We drafted him and then subsequently protected him with a huge paycheck and then brought him onto the 53-man roster later in the year; they obvioulsy like the kid. He played well against both Tennessee & Pittsburgh.

Polumbus on the other hand - to be fair, a healthy Lamar Woodley is a handful for even the elite tackles of the league, but he ate Tyler's lunch all night. He could do nothing.

Compton is a good athlete and evidently from what we have been reading has good footwork and a strong work ethic.

But he lacks strength to anchor. He worked out to build strength over the offseason but is still probably a year away.

That lack of strength is more noticeable at RT in a traditional offense.

That's one reason Shanahan has not had Compton over at RT taking reps during camp.

To me Pashos if he can hold up at 33 is a better one year insurance policy at RT.
