Official NASCAR Thread

The biggest surprise is that NASCAR aren't going to follow up on it. If that happened down here, Marcos would have been sitting on the sidelines for a couple of races, at least. We've had drivers push-and-shove and get involved in a bit of argy bargy, but never has a punch been thrown that has connected.

Just a side note... loved that RG3 drove pace car.. and I loved his comment about Dale Jr... saying he would have to reciprocate in some way, but there's nothing in football to equate to the pace car.. so he said "perhaps I'll have him (Dale) dress up as a quarterback and have Hatcher tackle him". Then he added... I don't think he'd appreciate that much. I love that Jr. is a major Redskins fan. He's not my favorite driver but he has mellowed since changing teams I think and he has a lot more respect from other drivers than he used to.

Every last Sunday of May each year is the best day of all for racing. Grand Prix of Monaco. Indy 500. Coca-Cola 600. And Kurt is going for the double. Enjoy the fun my racing friends.

Congrats to Ryan Hunter-Reay on winning the Indy 500. His wife is easy on the eyes, eh? Beccy is the sister of Robby Gordon - have met her a few times and yes, she is as tall as she appeared on TV after the race.

Great finish by Kurt - 6th. Half of the double is over and he is currently on a jet to Charlotte.

Who will be out at JGR, or are they expanding?

I wouldn't be surprised if Denny gets the boot. While he's still competing, he ain't been the same since he broke his back. Who knows? Maybe they are done with Kyle...

Not sure how I feel about an over the hill Carl Edwards. :p

No one is leaving. It will be a four car team.

Also hearing that Greg Biffle has re-upped with RFR.

Race at Pocono is moved up to 1:05 pm due to weather concerns later in the day.

Tony Stewart could be in the biggest trouble of his life. Very serious. Very.

Why should Smoke be totally at fault? That thing happens at most tracks on any given race night, but this was a tragic ending. The other driver was the instigator, if all reports are correct. Why didn't he just throw his helmet at him? Why didn't he just wait and confront him in the pits post-race? Was it because it was Tony Stewart that some no-name driver took a chance to get his name in print? He certainly did that, but all for the wrong reasons.

What do you expect when you wear a dark coloured driving suit at a dimly lit track and try to confront a driver that was involved in your crash! Something about ability versus reality.

Only one car went high on the caution lap - all others stayed low. Care to guess which one?

Send that statement to his parents. Care to wonder what they think?

That's a pretty aggressive statement though BB. Not knowing what actually happened (we'll never know it 100% perfectly from Tony Stewart's perspective), I don't think it's fair to judge this anything other than a horrible accident. Anything other than that is tantamount to accusing him of murder.

With all due respect John, there is only one car that went high.

I am not ready to say he is guilty, but every racer knows that you go high or low (depending on where the accident is located) to stay away from the accident scene during a caution. Many racers have climbed out of their cars to voice a certain measure of anger - it is something of a tradition - if you will.

I'm not going to blame Tony, but I will definitely not blame Kevin Ward.

"Ward got out of his car and ran towards Stewart"

Damn shame..but it seems like good judgment went out the window all around.

He didn't run toward Stewart. He got out of his car and walked in that direction, but no where near the lower driving line. Why would he try to get run over on purpose?

Because he was pissed and trying to get to him as fast as possible.

That's the police and espn saying that, not me. That's why it's in quotes.
