Official Game Thread - Week 6 MNF - Bears @ Commanders

I wouldn't. NFC vs. AFC and we're going to need some playoff position, and conference record is higher on the tie break ladder.

Of course, winning both would be ideal...

But between those 2 is the Cowbois. So 3 straight wins would be preferable.

DQ said that he's optimistic that Terry can play this week, along with brown and possibly Cosmi also. We're getting the band back together

I'll believe it when I see it.

I'd actually like to slow roll Brown. If Terry comes back first, that's fine. I think McCaffery has earned playing time. I'd like to see what it looks like with Terry, Deebo and McCaffery before adding Noah back into the mix.

And that's an opinion which has changed over the last 3 weeks.

We're currently 4 point favorites over Chicago.

Other than wanting to win because, that is what JD5 always wants to do, I feel the pressure on MNF is going to be on Caleb Williams and not even necessarily because of the game from last season and more the trajectory of each team since that game. Caleb has had a decent game this year but overall he is still looking like the jury is not out on whether he will develop into a franchise QB. If the defense can get to Caleb early, force a turnover...a couple sacks, and the offense can get some points early, there is a chance it could get ugly for the Bears. They are definitely going to come out of the gate super focused and motivated, (Ben Johnson too). I assume they will have a good plan, whether they can execute those plans or not.....

It doesn't mean anything at all but I'm much less worried about the Care 🐻s than I was the Chargers.

The Chargers game could be the start of a winning streak.

So I'm not sure what Chicago's defensive scheme is all about, but so far it's pure feast or famine. They give up so many yards per play, but then they're also 3rd in defensive Takeaways. They've had 9 in 4 games, whereas we've had 3 in 5 games.

Defensive Comparison between us and them:
Opposing rush success rate against the... (this is % of runs that pick up a good chunk of yards to either convert on downs or be in a favorable spot to convert on future downs)
  • Bears 45.8% allowed (25th)
  • Commanders 37.1% allowed (10th)
Pass success rate against:
  • Bears 53.5% allowed (29th)
  • Commanders 45.6% allowed (11th)
Yet despite that, due to the turnovers mentioned above, our pass defense is rated just a smidge worse than the Bears because they just get so many interceptions. Bears are at 14th and we're at 17th in EPA/Play Allowed against the pass.

Ive read a lot of comments from Bears fans how they have circled this game and want revenge. For them Caleb beating JD's team some how vindicates them as deep down they resent the success and love JD has received. Since the draft Ive grown to really dislike the bears in large part because of their fans and will take great pleasure in their misery if we can pull out the win.

If being honest I'm still annoyed at the whole Ben Johnson thing and how he supposedly turned down the Job with Washington. Id take some pleasure in handing him a loss.

4-2 and a game back of the Eagles would be soooo much better than falling to .500.

Hope they are ready. HTTR

Eagles could also lose to the Giants and be tied with us.

Denver's pass rush got to Hz 6 times. Burns already has 5 sacks for the Giants. Barkley isn't running all over teams and he ran the ball 6 times and the entire team had 11 runs vs the Broncos.

It's not likely that they lose 2 in a row but don't forget what happened to them at the end of 2023.

I agree 100 percent. I really like Brown as a player. But, I’ve seen enough. He can’t stay healthy. He’s worse than Jordan Reed and Chris Thompson were. We need to move on next year.

But for now, if he’s not at 100%, let’s see what we can get out of Luke, when he’s across from Terry with Deebo in the slot and Bill in the backfield. Luke would absolutely see favorable coverages. I want to see if he can start outside across from Terry next year.

Only 20 RB carries vs the Chargers. 124 rushing yards, 2 TD's.

That needs to increase vs the Bears.

Bears defense stats so far. 107 carries 658 yards. 165 per game, 6.2 yards per carry.

Jeanty was averaging 52 yards per game but had 138 vs the Bears. Mostert had 62 yards on 4 carries.

Run, Run, Run, then run some more. They should at least be 50% run calls unless the Bears are stacking the box.

The only thing to worry about is if the first 2-3 runs are ineffective, and Kingsbury decides to stop running the ball.

He was never offered the job in Washington. The enormous horses ass stood up our ownership group and FO by texting them while they were on a plane to go interview him in one of the greatest shows of lack of professionalism of all time.

I posted this elsewhere:

Fuck Ben Johnson up the ass sideways with a chainsaw.

Agree. Ive never heard of anything as unprofessional. Just fucking do the interview at that point and turn down the job. They were already on the plane. He also is super cringey addressing the team. He’s not meant to be a HC, I don’t think.
