Washington was a heavy man-coverage defense last season and has remained so to this season. The Packers found ways to exploit it, averaging 9.4 yards per pass attempt.

“I just think they had a good plan against us because we’re a man team,” said cornerback Marshon Lattimore, who was flagged twice for defensive holding on Thursday. “That’s really what it was. They just ran man-beaters a lot. “

Packers quarterback Jordan Love seemed to concur.

“Coming into it, versus some of the coverages they were running, we had some opportunities to run by them and take some big shots,” he said. “I think we just missed on a couple of them, but it’s plays that are there to be made. … But it all just comes down to playing off of what the defense is giving us and trying to take advantage when we get a favorable coverage or matchup on some of the plays we’ve got called.”

I don’t dislike our WRs. I think our coaching positionally and OC has some question marks. A lot of times you have to judge your coaches on how they develop young dudes. Sainristil is a success so far. Elsewhere? Hm. Connerly. Coleman. They both showed basic issues to me. Technique issues. Prep issues.

So I am not too high on positional coaching even going back to last year. When you get a lot of older vets it can hide issues in positional coaching. Ertz and Wags don’t need coaching. Luvu had a pretty bad game.

For me, the jury is still out on our OL coach. That was a great D line with great pressure but I want to see good technique and prep for our young guys. That would really sell me on our OL coach. I haven’t seen it but it’s hard to evaluate without more film and time. I remember last year, feeling Coleman late in the year had some serious technique issues which was disappointing.

It’s apparent we could use another veteran slot who is more a true slot receiver like Zaccheus or Crowder. A savvy quick veteran route runner would give Jayden another guy he can count on to get open.

Credit to the GB. Their gameplan was good. Have to fault our coaching for not adjusting. I called out our coaching in game 1. It was basically flawless. Not this week.

Yeah I was listening to Sheehan who watched the All 22 as well. And Jay Gruden. they both think bench Conerly for Wylie.

They both though Daniels was off. I did too. But its understandable no camp with his outside Wrs, no preseason throws AND an O line that is struggling.

i like Conerly's tools, I am not out on him. But from what I saw his struggles were beyond rookie growing pains, he was dominated. You can't have your tackle dominated.

I don't know if you recall that game when Trent got hurt against Cincy back on 2012 and the LT sub immediately gave up two sacks and it felt like a disaster. It's kind of at that level with Conerly right now. And no way I buy that he is going to regroup against Crosby. They can lose to Vegas if their O line is that bad.

I understand Conerly struggled against NY, too. I haven't rewatched that game. But i doubt it was this level bad.
 
What I don’t understand is the refusal to start Wylie at either RT or RG early in the season. For those that don’t know, Wylie ranked NINTH in pass block win rate last year at OT. That’s one spot ahead of Tunsil, and multiple spots higher than other notable names like Ronnie Stanley, Jordan Mailata, Trent Brown, Zach Tom and Penei Sewell.

I can understand how excited Kliff was to use Conerly in the run/screen game, which is why he left that note on AP’s desk to draft him. So I get why they rushed to start him. But you have to actually RUN THE BALL for that decision to make sense. You can’t pass the ball over 40 times against what is likely to be the best pass rush in the league with a raw rookie RT. Even Joe Alt struggled against the Texans last year in the Chargers’ playoff game, and Alt came into the league as much more of a finished product than Conerly.

And if you absolutely need to start Conerly this early, then why in the world would you not start the best pass protector you have on the right side of your OL (i.e., Wylie) next to him? Is Allegreti just too expensive for them to leave on the bench? And you need to justify his salary at the risk of getting your franchise QB seriously injured? That’s just a massive coaching failure in my eyes.

They might be. But that doesn't reassure me if the idea is to win a SB because good chance they need to get through them and or the Eagles to get to the big dance.

True. But it makes it harder to properly plan with only a few days not knowing exactly how good they are
 
If he is actually hurt they need to stop letting him try to pull hero BS. Do what’s best for him even if he doesn’t think so, and start Mariotta. Assuming he is healthy.
 
We have 10 days between games. The Raiders play a division game on MNF vs the Chargers tomorrow. We also get the Raiders at home.

If we lose that game shit isn't going the way we expected. There is no excuse.
