Official Game Thread - Week 2 - Commanders @ Packers - TNF

JD better not be injured. We have just about 0 chance of going anywhere without him. He was probably 90% of why we won more than 6 games last season.

But wouldn't it be funny if Mariota gets another chance and blows up like Geno Smith. He did have a good game last year. I don't want to experience that situation because it would never be as great as what JD could do for us, but it could actually happen.

Keim's podcast this morning. He mentioned Jayden got a MRI. He doesn't know the verdict but suspects things might not be dire because if so it would more likely have come out.

He rewatched the game, had some of the same observations i did.

The one dissenter on the rewatch is Bullock. While he agreed with some of what I said on this thread. He actually thinks Allegretti played ok. I was wondering if I was the crazy one so I looked up his PFF pass blocking score which was 14. I don't think I have ever seen a score that low.

He thinks Conerly was bad but Coleman has been the one playing worse. So again looked at PFF. Coleman with about a 50 pass blocking score, so that's bad not awful. And Conerly had a 20, which is abysmal.

Doesn't mind PFF is right but the way they saw this one mirrors my observation as to those three players.

Just curious, if you have PFF, can you go back and look at the premium OTs and their rookie grades?

I would imagine over the course of the next month or two we will see a jump in his progression, both by a seeming lower level of competition, and his own development.

according to JP Finlay... DQ will hold a press conference at 3:30PM to "share information" ... I guess it's about JD5

I'll get to it at some point. I looked at one just now. Sewell, granted a stud. He had good scores from the jump of his rookie season, 67.5, 76.4.

I know though plenty of tackles struggle early. As to Conerly, i am not really worried over the long haul. And i don't mind some struggles. But rewatching him in that game, he was beyond abysmal. And a 20 pass blocking grade reflects that. That's not a score thats just bad, its train wreck level bad.

I just don't love to see him against Crosby. If he had a lighter DE to face, I'd feel better.

Edit: I checked Andrew Thomas because I recall the rap on him was he wasn't hot his first season especially early on. His first two games; 53.8, 52.5. Conerly: averaged 42 in the first two games and 30 as a pass blocker.

I think Conerly will be fine. But again, what I saw on Thursday's game isn't sustainable for this offense to be successful. And i got no doubt he will improve over time. But Crosby is elite. From what I saw on Thursday, Conerly is no where near ready to handle an elite pass rusher.

Grant on the radio just now said based on his discussions, more likely Jayden doesn't play than plays this coming Sunday

I’ve felt all along that there was more to this than what was being reported - which was very little.

Time to change the screen name. Having a major relapse.
It does feel a little surreal.

Huge rookie season culminating in rookie of the year.

Like come on god or queen of karma or whoever is pulling the strings, ive been a pretty good boy most of my life i dont deserve this.

I’ve purchased 2 jerseys in the last 13 years and you know what they are. 🥲

Everything in my soul is negative about this.

The line was at -6.5 Commanders a few days ago, it's-3 now Commanders. I think it may get even tighter by Sunday.

Listening to Jay Gruden just now, thinks the o line is the problem right now, big problem, he doesn't think Conerly is ready to play among other things.

Grant goes to Jay, Conerly leads the league in giving up pressures with 11, so Jay goes watching the film, that number seems to generous to Conerly

Well he only has to deal with a guy named Maxx Crosby this weekend. :) I am sure that is the main reason they are thinking of sitting JD.
