I don't see this game as a walk over. We were supposed to kick the piss out of them the first time around. Even with CD out for Dallas, Dallas is playing better then when we played them, so it could be a typical NFC East game... The only good part to a loss to Dallas ... it will ensure that Jones keeps that idiot McCarthy, dooming Dallas for a few more seasons with him and Dak.

I don't know why they didn't play Lance once they were out of the running...why grab a younger QB who needs to be developed and then play a low-ceiling backup for 3 months?

They already declined his 5th year option (easy call). So he’s a free agent and they may have already decided he’s not someone they want to bring back based on how he’s looked in practice and preseason. But if so then why even think of playing him now?

Oh, I hadn't tracked it that closely. I agree that it doesn't make much sense to play a lame duck QB in your final game. They should have been looking to extend him more cheaply as Dak's primary backup. Then again, you'd need some data points to make that call and he hasn't played.

Maybe I'm overconfident but I'm not worried about this game. During the season is one thing, but it's Week 18 and Dallas can't even really play spoiler (seeding notwithstanding). Those guys are going to be 3 hours away from vacation time and we're going to be motivated to clinch the 6 seed and clean up our play before the postseason. Should be a W.

Jerry Jones believes developing a qb is like how GB did with Aaron Rodgers. Just like hes been trying to duplicate his holy trinity of aikman, smith and irvin for the last 25 years like thats the secret code or something

18m per is a lot to pay for a player that is available equal to or less than 50% of the time. (No matter how good he is…unless you can pick the games he doesn’t play.)
