Yesterday was different for me. I predicted we'd fall 30-17 or something like that - which is about where it landed. My power was out up until a couple hours pre-game and as
Om told me, it might've been a blessing had it stayed off. I did have the game on, but being Christmas eve and prepping dinner I wouldn't say I was 'watching', but more had it on in the background and was keeping tabs on it. I'll have to watch the full game without distractions this week. Looked to me like we hung in there in the first half, although again we opted not to take easy points that were there for the taking. 2nd half looked like a total collapse and TH making critical mistakes. I only watched Wentz for the one drive but he looked sharp. I felt like we needed to make some changes to have any chance to beat the 49ers, and of course 'Riverboat' never makes a change until it's way beyond obvious he needs to. I think he may have an overgrown sense of loyalty to his players, because he seems very reluctant to pull or sit ANYONE for performance. I honestly think he'd rather lose games than hurt someone's feelings.
I didn't expect us to win on Saturday. 49ers are one of the best teams in the league even with a JAG at QB and we looked like what we are... a very shaky team with a bad OL, marginally competent QBing, and very average in-game coaching. I sort of have the feeling we will win the last 2 for some kind of pyrrhic playoff appearance. But basically as
burgold and others have pointed out, the best thing about 2022 is that it likely spells the end of the Dan Snyder era, and may also spur some major coaching changes.
This team has some young talent. That's really all we've got going for us at this point.
