I am not equating this team to the patriots. Dont be so obtuse.. obviously its two different teams with different strength and weaknesses... But Maye is finding success with shitty oline, no o weapons to speak of and not much RB help.
no offense, but you're far from qualified to make a call on whether Maye would be successful on this team .. the fact that you would make this claim.. shows you know very little about how NFL works

And now he’s starting businesses and whatever else you’d expect a young athlete to be involved in, so that age of 1000% football is already over.

He just needs to improve, no excuses. This was a tough spot to come back in, good D that blitzes a lot…but he used to shred the blitz. He just straight up looks hesitant and is playing poorly. He has to be better, separate from the the roster and coaching also needing to be better around him.

It's puzzling but I do think the defenses have given him significantly less.

So here's one of my MANY problems. I tend to agree with you here. Do you know whose job it is to help Daniels figure this out? I mean, for me, again - this is on Kliff. We all see the same things.

Maye is elite, no doubt. Was my second favorite qb in the draft but some of yall should go follow the Pats the way you’re giving up on Jayden and pining for Maye. It’s a bad look.

people will crucify the team for playing Jayden, but I think he needed to. even pre-injury, at the start of the season, his play was not sharp. he needed the reps. I don't think shielding him would've done him good. at least, it's his non-throwing arm and I doubt it will set him back for next season.
 
This dumb team thought a moral victory vs the broncos was their SB , this is a bad Viking team and just getting worked

It kind of sounds like that's exactly what you are doing, when you say we should get Maye as if that's the magic solution.
My position is what you are kind of saying now: impossible to know - but yes I differ with you when I say certainly unlikely given all of the problems this team has outside of QB.

You are now making really weird claims. "Not much RB help" - OK. You mean the RB who got 147 yards a couple of weeks ago? How many times did Daniels have a RB who ran for that many yards?

When Drake Maye throws a pick - and yes, he does - do you know what happens? A lot of times, the Patriots D makes a stop.

Do you know what happens here when the O doesn't score? The D lets up a score. Like clockwork.

So no, Drake Maye over here doesn't magically make us better with these coaches. Coaching matters. Maye is having a good season though, for sure.

I do not think Josh McDaniels is some wonder kid, but I do think they have a coach who knows the importance of the run game and D and forces the issue. So Maye is set there.
McCarthy has KoC. So yes, set there.
We have Kliff. And DQ. Disagreeing in pressers. All of this nonsense. So, no, Daniels is not set at all.

Of course the defensive coaching has been poor for 2 years. McCarthy has been mocked as a huge bust this year and he looks like a hall of famer today. The scheme gave him easy throws to open receivers on his first read-that is coaching
 
DQ will take preseason more seriously next year. There was no excuse for JD5 being so off to start the season. I get it that facing a Whitt defense probably gave our guys a delusional sense of preparedness, but we were getting stymied by bad defenses and torched by mediocre offenses all season. Coaching. On both sides of the ball.

If we keep playing Ike we did today he will not be a HC anyplace next year
 
After the Denver game DQ said they lost the game but they aren’t lost. Well I think it’s safe to say they are the very definition of lost. The sad part is I don’t see how anyone can be all that optimistic about next year either.
 
Whoa, just got home. Had to listen to Christmas music on the way back, which turned out to be merciful thing. So basically, WTF?
