Official Game Thread - Week 10 - Steelers @ Commanders

Actually, I disagree. Why take someone else’s thing and try to make it yours? To me, this seems like something the last group would do. I would much rather them come up with their own idea. This just seems lame.
The funny thing is, it's not even really "their thing"...they just stole it and like to pretend they invented swinging a towel 😆

From wiki:
E.A Diddle of the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers truly created the rally towel in the 1940s.[2] Western Kentucky would also trademark the term "The Red Towel" in 1971;[3] 4 years before Myron Cope created the Pittsburgh Steelers "terrible towel".

Though not known as a rally towel at the time — the concept had not been introduced yet — one of the first recorded regular similar uses of a towel was at Western Kentucky University, where basketball coach E. A. Diddle waved a red towel on the sideline during games.[7] Diddle, who coached at WKU from 1922 to 1964, originally used a plain white towel; the red towel came as a result of an effort to keep students from pilfering towels from the physical education department.[8] A logo featuring the towel is now used by the school's sports teams, most prominently on football helmets.[9]

There was a loud and obvious Let’s Go Bears chant coming through my tv in the 4th quarter.

They’re the ultimate’troll’

This is just an uno reverse card to troll back.

Ok you wanna bring in a bunch of yellow towels? We will give out burgundy it now all matches our team colors

So the use of yellow instead of gold and trotting out Steeler uniforms was next level strategery.

After 3 decades of hope followed by crushing disappointment, I have kept my enthusiasm for this year and JD tempered. These next 2 games will determine whether or not I submit to becoming a true believer.

I'm concerned with the kicker situation with Siebert not practicing yesterday. I enjoyed the feeling of the extra point probably being good.

how did Siebert get hurt?

Don't know...listed on yesterday's injury report as "DNP right hip" I'm anxious to see if he sits out today

I'm anxious to see what our defense looks like with Lattimore, but also don't want him to rush back for this game if the hammy needs more time. I assume Peters has the full picture and went in to the trade with eyes wide open. Curious to see how it plays out.

I just don't see Tomlin losing to a rookie a QB ...

but I guess our guy is not your average rookie QB ....

its going to be better....and it hasnt looked too bad lately. Definately leaps and bounds above anything Ron and co ever put on the field after years of picks

The run defense is questionable--however I don't doubt Lattimore will help that. For the first time in a long, long time--I trust our FO and coaching staff to be in sync! I'm betting Lattimore will allow Chinn to play more in the box--and if this last week was any indication, it's going to be exciting.

I’m not sure if this is a justified concern, but…

Andrew Wiley vs TJ Watt? 🫣

(Yes, I know, coaching matters and there will always be a Bates tied to Wiley’s right hip but still.)

I think you'll see a lot of Sinnot in, blocking.

I was at the game after Sean Taylor died and they handed out to each fan a towel with his number on it. So while Pittsburgh is best known for their terrible towels, it isn't their thing alone.
I have the towel framed and hanging on a wall with the ticket to the game. I had 2, I'm not sure what happened with the other one

I have high hopes for Sinnot going forward. Dude is extremely athletic. Tight ends take time to develop, but I'm hopeful he can become a true jack of all trades.

He's a beast--I cannot wait for him to develop.
