Official Game Thread - Week 10 - Steelers @ Commanders

Definitely see it being a close one this week. If the Steelers strength is in the run game, I'd hope to see the following:

1) still remaining committed to the run, but relying on the passing game to open it up, even using the short passing game to get the vall into our backs' hands

2) greater diversity of play calling in the red zone. If they keep trying to run on 1st and 2nd down, then I expect another game where Seibert is the main point scorer.

I’ll be in Key West during this game and the Filthadellphia game. Anyone got recommendations on where to watch?
Did you find a solution? I stream globally

he was out with a hamstring injury when he was traded
Could be that. Could be he arrived too late and/or was taking his physical and doing all the administrative work that goes into switching teams. 🤷

Probably the hamstring, but it'd be nice if it was just a timing thing.

NBC says it was the hamstring.

I’m not going to count us out of running the ball against the Steelers. Their last game the Giants put up 157 yards on the ground against them. Cowboys also had a 100 yard game against them and those two teams aren’t running super well right now. Other teams have been shut down but like us it’s because they haven’t played anybody good so far well outside of the Falcons, but that was game 1.

I would pick us to win this game but the Steelers are coming off their bye so I think they’ll win.

Smart marketing teams and front offices make smart decisions.

Actually, I disagree. Why take someone else’s thing and try to make it yours? To me, this seems like something the last group would do. I would much rather them come up with their own idea. This just seems lame.

It’s odd to see all the praise we’re getting from the National media who have been so quick to dismiss us over the years (and rightfully so). Prisco in particular was highly critical of all things under Snyder

I was at the game after Sean Taylor died and they handed out to each fan a towel with his number on it. So while Pittsburgh is best known for their terrible towels, it isn't their thing alone.

I know they have handed out towels before. So have other teams. But one franchise is known for fans waving towels above all others. So why choose that game to give out towels other than to try and stick it to them? Why didn’t they give out towels at another game this year? Why not all year if they want this to be their thing?

Mark Ein was on 106.7 yesterday, said specifically this was to counter the yinzers and their terrible towels--who can forget that nightmare 2008 game when it was 75% Steelers fans. I think it'll be 50/50 ish? Steelers fans always show up, so I like the idea so it doesn't look like it's in Pittsburgh.

Steelers fans will show regardless. A winning product on the field will take care of countering them. During the Bears game, entire game on TV, you didn’t know any Bears fans were there. When they took the lead, you heard them. If the team plays like they did in 2008, then all the marketing and towels in the world won’t matter. If they show up and dominate the Steelers, it won’t matter how many Steelers fans will be there. And I expect there will be a lot, because that’s what they do. People can have their opinion. Mine is that this is a lame attempt to copy a successful franchise and doesn’t fit with the new path this new ownership group is trying to carve out.

I was actually curious about this. I went to the Bears game and they were pretty loud in my section throughout much of the game. I wondered how much of it got through on TV.

I didn't hear any Bear fans until late in the game when they took the lead. Then you could hear them loud and clear.
