A win is a win but still the same old script of hurting ourselves repeatedly and barely scraping out a win. A good opponent probably beats them by two scores today.

EB's a former RB but he had no interest in establishing that facet of the game today. Would've helped Sam out today.

Disappointed with that aspect of today's game.

Not the prettiest win, but a win nonetheless. The offense was not good. Howell really struggled at times. And the play calling really had me scratching my head. Going into the 4th quarter, 29 passes and 14 rushes in a game when your QB is starting his second game and has struggled, fumbled for a TD, and it was raining pretty hard at some points. Why oh why are you not running more to take the pressure off your QB? I know it is a passing league, but a 2 to 1 ratio at that point in the game with how the game was going was a good reason why they were losing at that point. I just think they have to realize where Howell is in his career and do the best to maximize his skills and minimize his exposure to mistakes.

For the defense, they played well. Only 2 drives all day longer than 35 yards, and both ended in FGs. No TDs given up. Forced 2 fumbles and have 3 sacks and making those plays when it mattered. I know the AZ offense is not good, but had the defense not played well, this is a loss. The way the offense played, they weren't coming back from more than a 1 score deficit.

Went pretty much as I expected. Baby steps... with all that's new on the O, they still need some time to come together, so lighting up the cards just didn't seem realistic. I expect more of the same... growing pains. That being said, a win is still a fantastic way to get going. It was ugly and lots of mistakes, but it goes a long way for confidence. Love the D really getting after it late in the game.
It's a long road, a small wheel, and takes many turns to get where you're going...

The result today was a reminder that this team has a long way to go still. Great things aren't going to happen on the football field simply because of change in ownership.

The bigger victory today though was that for the first time in forever, Sunday just felt right again. The passion was there, and a sense of homefield advantage seems to have been hopefully restored.

I had fun and was smiling ear to ear today in several moments. In some ways, it brought me back to being a little kid again watching this team. That's enough of a win in and of itself for now.

Any win is a good win. If we can weather some growing pains on offense and still win games that's ok.

I don't think the team is going to the superbowl this year, but at least they are fun to root for again, even when it's ugly.

For now I'll take it.

I'd be interested in the video breakdowns that come out about Howell's performance because we can't see what he's looking at with the game feed. With my non-professional eye, I thought he had a pretty decent game with a few mistakes. I've been surprised to see some commentary that suggests he had a poor game and complained about him holding on to the ball too long. I never thought that while watching the game, so I tried to back through the game and document what happened on his incompletions and sacks.

Drops - 4 I had with Logan 2 1/2 and Robinson 1/2. 1/2 meaning 50/50 on whether I thought it could have been caught.
Bad Throws - 1 behind Terry
Defended - 3
Throwaways - 2
Interception - 1 tipped at the line

Sacks
3 sacks in 2 seconds or less
2 sacks in about 4 seconds (with one fumble)

I'm missing 1 incompletion and 1 sack, but overall I didn't think these looked too bad. Obviously the video breakdowns will tell us if he's missing open receivers or making poor decisions.

Well...I am missing an incomplete so it could be his. And most likely is. That would make my score 3 1/2 which would be your 4.

Logan Thomas and Antonio Gibson are quickly playing themselves out of jobs.

We may have to suffer through 2023 with Wylie at RT but running backs are available around the league on practice squads who are 22 years old and can potentially be change of pace players.

At TE I think Cole Turner is passing Thomas by. Thomas could never block a flea so his ONLY value is in the passing game and if he is drops prone has no useful role here.
