This is super important if we’re going to be consistent contenders. We have a tough division, but the best teams dominate weaker teams—especially in their own division. It’s the easiest path to the playoffs

Yeah NY's O line isn't as good. I was looking at their O line's PFF scores and surprised they weren't bad. Mostly OK scores. What happens though to the Giants O line is they tend to lose A. Thomas at one point and then the domino effect is tremendous.

I like their running back room over ours by a little. Mainly because I like Skattebo.
I like their WR room over ours by a little. But its close.
I like our TE room over theirs.
I like of course our QB over their.
I like their D line by a mile over ours.
I like our LBs by a little over theirs
I like their safeties by a little over ours.
I like our corners by a little over ours.

Overall I like their roster by a lttle over ours. But we got the better QB. Overall, if we played the Giants 6 times, I think we'd win 4 of them. I just dont like the matchup in game 1.

My thesis is mainly about them crapping the bed in the preseason. It's about the Giants getting plenty of preseason game reps, and some of our key players getting none. You throw in the Giants might be the team more hopped up for the upset -- and that has me worried.

This is a really good point--when was the last time we absolutely drubbed a division opponent?

Agree. And to that point a decisive win against the Giants would be a statement next Sunday.

In more recent years, we are 5-14 against the Eagles. That is fairly lopsided. But our wins were memorable. The Heinicke Monday night win. The comeback against Kenny Pickett last year, etc.
We are 6-15 against Dallas.

So 11-29 against Dallas--Eagles. Not very good.

Since 2015, they are 10-11 against the Giants.

lol, I know. And I've talked about this on ES some, my wife is a Giants fan so I've watched my share of games of NY versus Dallas and the Eagles -- both of whom have drubbed New York plenty of time.

NY is an automatic win it seems like for Philly and Dallas. They've really dominated New York.
 
I cannot wait for the day when we're an established contender so we dont have to keep fearing our recent history (last 3 decades 🥹) against the league.

All i gotta say about using our history to try to Guage future results is ergo hoc propter hoc!

I like our corners way more. Banks is terrible--he's never been good. Lattimore struggled last year, but he has a history of being a very good CB. Sanristil shined--he's a slot CB that held his own as our defacto #1 for several weeks. And the staff is raving about Trey Amos. Phillips is good, we'll see how Adebo does in the Giants defense.

I like the depth of our receivers better than theirs. Nabers clears all--but after him, I'll take McLaurin, Deebo, and Brown, over Slayton and Robinson. Robinson had 143 targets and 93 receptions...for 699 yards. Zach Ertz had 33 less catches for 45 fewer yards, and he had about 4 YAC all year. Hyatt and Lane/LMC are unproven maybes at this point. Nabers was also a non-factor in our second matchup last year--9 rec, 59 yrds, 0 TDs.

Also, remember, their DL accounted for 0 sacks against us, total, last year.

Damn, i didn't even realize that.
With as many sacks as jayden took last year that seems almost unbelievable.

I get where you are coming from. I do think the crap shoot point applies to this series -- New York versus Washington. It doesn't seem to matter who is having the better season -- anything is possible. And the games come out close. Also Philly-Dallas goes back and forth.

The bottom two teams of that division go back and forth. And the top two go back and forth. But not much crossover with the bad teams beating the good ones. But when it happens its usually this team with the upset.

Been some time for the Giants for being a challenge to the Eagles and Cowboys. And I only know this because I've been subjected to watching so many of those Giant games sadly.

Doesn't matter. I am only commenting on it because lol I'd love for that era to stop. Be nice if the new rivlary is established with us versus Philly. And we dominate NY like Dallas and Philly does.
 
It's unreal how expensive parking passes are. In the past years the team usually puts out more parking passes the week of the game or before at face value but they haven't done that.

My brother and I want to go to the game but if we can't find a parking pass at face value or slightly over we're not going.

We're looking at F Gold and it's normally $50 or $60, but they are like $250 on seatgeek right now and I won't support that.
 
Russell throws the deep corner well.... learn it, live it, know it, defend it. At least he wont have Mike Williams this time.
 
KK should start every game off with RPO with Jayden keeping the ball like how he started the Panther game last year.

No one expects that. They waste at least 3-4 RPO plays where no one respects JD the first few attempts and they all swarm to the back. While KK tries to see how the defense it playing it.

You gotta soften that defense right from the first snap. Catch them off guard - and especially if he rips off a long one - and get the defense playing the rest of the game on their heels worried about containing JD.

That’ll give the RBs more time/space.

Last year Kliff said Quinn asks him to run it up the gut more than he wanted to keep defenses honest

I think we all saw BRob ineffectively and conservatively run up the gut enough last year, to all not be bummed that he got traded.
 
I’ve got a case of first game jitters a bit.

I understand pre-season means nothing in the grand scheme…but I remain uncomfortable with the approach of not playing the starters for more than a few series, at all. I sincerely hope I’m wrong and the team comes out on fire. Smack them in the mouth early and then don’t let up.

If we are going to go to high places this year we have to win the games we are supposed to win. The Giants are a divisional opponent we absolutely should defeat, and then we have a quick turnaround with the Packers on Thursday night.

No time for a slow start.

I have been monitoring the ticket and parking costs for a while. I have become convinced they are trying to run out the opposing fans by pricing them out of the place. Even SRO tickets are $169. You get a spot to stand for that…not a seat.
 
Last year Washington started the season with a heavy emphasis on the rushing attack. It made sense to take some of the pressure off the rookie QB.

But I don’t think that’s going to be the strategy starting this season. I think the offense is going to be able to score early and often.

Whether the defense holds up their end of the bargain will determine if they blow out their opponents… or nail biters coming down to the last possession.
 
Tough start with NFCE foe than a quick turnaround 4 days later vs. the Packers on the road 😞
