Official Game Thread - Steelers @ Redskins 2016

Great write up SkinsOrlando.

Oh and I think it's time we call in a specialist to fix the run game.

Joseph John Bugel

Intellectually, I can deal with the loss, but just not the type... mental errors galore, not being in sync, stupid coaching decisions, no adjustments.. that's what I have a hard time with. It is just one game and as I said elsewhere, I'll hold off my panic until after the next two games.

To re-ask the question by Neophyte.. was this the start of the end this early? Geesh I hope not. Mental mistakes and coaching killed us. Mental mistakes can be fixed and whether coaching changes their approach remains to be seen.

However, I live in Steelers Country and I am not looking forward to work tonight, but YES, I will be wearing my B&G Redskins t-shirt.. their my team no matter what.

Want a dose of hard, cold, rational observation? I found this column cathartic.

Here's the intro:

The Pittsburgh Steelers were supposed to be a test for a Washington team that played a soft schedule last year and won a weak division. But they weren’t supposed to be a doctoral dissertation.

After what Josh Norman called the “butt-whuppin’ ” the Redskins took in their own stadium Monday night, this team needs to face a different kind of examination: a reality test.

If they pass, which is to say if they see themselves honestly and go back to work on the long project of going from genuinely awful to sustainably good, they’ll be just fine.

But if they don’t realize the Steelers are just the first challenge in what will be a far more difficult season — one in which 9-7 probably would be an aspiration, not a baseline assumption — then they run the risk of every kind of self-inflicted mischief. Honest self-evaluation is the first step to improvement. This team did plenty of it last year. Now it will have to do a lot more.

It’s time for some recalibration of this team’s expectations. Nothing wild. Just a square look in the eye at what happened at FedEx Field against a very good but not great Pittsburgh team, playing with several key injuries, that defines what is meant by an NFL measuring stick for “Where You Are...”

It's pretty bad when I was starting to feel comfortable enough to bet money that we'd get a false start or a holding penalty from somebody on the next play

How about a bet that the Steelers were going to run left?

EZ money that.

Well, if Pittsburgh did what the coaches expected, and this was the best they could come up with, they should all resign. Because they haven't a clue of what they're doing.

I have to believe it just another case of "Plan A" failed, miserably. And, there is no "Plan B".

There's never a Plan B.

Ever.

EVER!
