Heck even letting Chris Rodriguez go is interesting. He was a good power runner for them. He got more than twice than any of Washington's backs got in FA. Maybe the joke is on Liam Coen who coached Rodriguez in college.

Jim Harbaugh was is an offensive guy and played QB in the NFL -- maybe the joke is on him that he didn't know that he paid good money for a center who is meh at best.

You got me. Some of Peters bold decisions have worked out, some have clearly not worked out. For me he hasn't earned implicit trust. I got to see how it plays out. But center right now is looking ugly. And if we gave them truth sereum I seriously doubt they'd rather have a banged up Allegretti and Good-Jones with all the reports in camp about how bad the O line looks (Tischler mentions this too in a recent podcast) in camp -- over what the status quo was pre that release. Look maybe it turns their way and the perfect player gets released for them to shore up that spot. I hope so. But for this moment in time, I seriously doubt they foresaw they'd be in late August with even their head coach citing how they need to figure out center.

To be fair, we've seen what can happen when an offensive lineman gets benched from his starting job when the team tries to replace him. Andrew Wylie got signed for $24 million dollars on a three year contract from 2023 to 2025. He started for 2023 and 2024. When the team replaced him with Connerly in 2025, the whole team took a nose dive. The locker room was probably so toxic that they couldn't wait to get rid of him. They insulted Wylie to his face by not just looking for a replacement, but actually doing it, and with a first round draft pick just to stomp extra hard on his ego for how badly they wanted to push him down the depth chart. I can't imagine Wylie would ever want to do business with us again.

Don't forget giving up Chinn, that was another WTF moment for me.
