Official Game Thread - Playoffs Week 2 - Commanders @ Lions

Since we are going up against Ben Johnson I thought this tidbit was interesting reference turning around the plane when heading to interview Ben Johnson for the head coach job - Sorry if posted elsewhere:

If true, lost a little respect for Johnson that he wanted Howell and was not flexible. AP did the smart thing and traded him and got draft capital.

Lake Lewis has zero sources. He was stating that Dotson was loved by the staff and was going to have a big year 1 week before he was traded! The plane never turned around as we still went to Detroit to interview Glenn.

I was at the same Seattle playoff game Chris was with my 10 year old. I was continually threatened, had 'F' bombs screamed in my face right in front of my son, security just stood there and watched. A few nice fans apologized all day for our experience, but it was completely unacceptable. I was glad we lost in the end because frankly, had we won that game, I don't think I make it out of that stadium safely. It was bad.

I won't ever go to a road game again.
Wow, that's really too bad. Yes, sports watching has become kind of a disaster when it's so commonly combined with the alcohol overindulgence and inability to handle one's liquor in a respectful way. I don't care if someone drinks but when they interfere with another's enjoyment... I was at that Seattle game too with two friends of mine. One of my friends is 6'9 but looks super friendly so of course people love talking to him. Maybe that is why we didn't have that experience. That's pretty ridiculous that you had a 10 year old with you and experienced that, but do you think DC would be better or the same? I used to go to a lot of skins games back in 2010-2013 timeframe, including season tickets for a bit there, and I remember a fair amount of fights and other junk happening in the stands.

Seattle has a very particular culture also.

Dallas - many people chimed in their experiences in Dallas have been positive. That is all I have ever heard. I don't think I heard of a really bad experience in Dallas, or if I have, it was one compared to many, many positive ones. If you ever change your mind, I guess based on what I've heard, I would definitely check Dallas out.

Honestly, I get why the Lions are feeling confident. They've had a helluva year and really a helluva two years and we're an upstart. I'd be shocked if fans didn't look at us and pencil in a win. Heck, I bet Tampa penciled in a win too. I thought we could win, but wouldn't have been surprised if we lost. All season, we've been conscious of how we're playing with House money and overachieving with an undertalented team.

The Lions deserve to be favored. Their fans deserve to be cocky. The sneaky thing is, we could win. It's not likely, but it ain't impossible.

That's not confidence it's fear.
If they were half as confident as they pretend to be they wouldn't be talking trash.
They're afraid their golden season could get derailed by a rookie quarterback and his motley crew and they're pissing their pants about it.

Are you saying that the Lions given their history of never making it to the mountaintop are Norvous? :eek:ls:

just make sure you aren't sitting in a section where the screen blocks out a good portion of the field
Or where the setting sun comes through and shines right into your eyes. What a stupid design mistake. Rotate the building 45 degrees and it's not a problem for anyone.

Maybe not the lions themselves but those podcast guys sure as hell are.

This

Add on top of that that they are expected to win, and if things don't immediately go their way, the little voice in the back of their heads starts to get loud.

"Jared.... you're a fraud without McVay.... you're worse than that pedophile subway Jared..."

Also, my petty side really wants to get the win to shove it to Ben Johnson. For the punk way he treated our interview process last offseason. Certainly worked out the best for us -- but still root from him to fail. LOL
I read today that the noise of BJ to the Raiders was growing. That's hilarious that he spurns our situation, which has arguably the brightest future in the NFL right now, for the dumpster fire Raiders. I'd love to send him home Saturday to then see him in an LV presser soon after.
