This is the real test. Lions are good, at home, but we are in a dome. If we get past them? It's Philadelphia most likely. How's that for optimism? 🤣

Is Detroit banged up injury wise?

I know this won’t help you Chris, but anyone that has YouTubeTV, they have a free 30 day trial of their 4k package. Saturday’s game is being broadcast in 4k. All of their playoff games, including the Super Bowl will be broadcast in 4k. Fox is supposedly the only network offering the playoff games in 4k, but you can enjoy some other sports in 4k.You can signup now, get the 4k package through the Super Bowl, then cancel after that. That’s what I will be doing.

TLDR:
If you have YouTubeTV and a 4K TV, sign up for their free 30 day 4k package and watch the game in 4k.

Thanks, Kel, but as a former YouTubeTV subscriber I don’t think I’m eligible for any free trial.

I subscribe to Amazon, Paramount (CBS), Peacock (NBC), and Netflix for any games they stream. Fox unfortunately, has no similar product.

Will the FoxSports app work and then casting to your TV? They may require provider sign in though.

So I'll say this. The Lions being heavy favorites is justified, I think they'd be heavy favorites against most teams left in the playoffs, especially at home. However, with that said, I think the Commanders, for all their roster faults & talent deficiencies, have shown a blue print for how to win games, even against teams with superior talent on their roster (which to be fair, is a lot of teams). You keep the game close, you get deep into the 4th with the score within a possession. You bend but don't break on defense. Half time adjustments this season have been huge. You get the ball into Jayden Daniels's hands with the ability to win the game and he is more than likely going to deliver, no it isn't going to happen every single time, but at this point I am not betting against him with the game on the line.

Quinn today at his presser seemed to not be very concerned with the production in the run game which was.....interesting to say the least. I wish there was a way to get C-Rod in the game to see if the O-line is really that bad at blocking or if B-Rob is either hurt or lacking the visions some times to find the lanes. However what I've been told is that McNichols use on special teams keeps him active as 3rd RB over C-Rod.

I think if our defense can hold their offense to less than 30 points we have a good chance to win the game.

If it comes down to the final possession and we have the ball…I love our chances.

I think one of the big changes this season as a fan is I no longer fear the opponent. To me, it’s all about what this team does. Can the offense move the ball? Can the defense make just enough plays? If the offense is humming, they can beat anyone. They beat Philly after committing 5 turnovers. As the announcer on that game said, preposterous. So whatever the Lions do, whatever they score, it doesn’t matter if I see this team doing what they do best.

I’m sure they require a provider sign-in. It’s not a big deal. I just have to use a stream that is finicky since my new high quality go-to was recently shut down

I signed up for the YouTubeTV free trial a few months ago and you cannot get games.
When they charged me, I asked for a refund and got it.

I calculated the Lions avg scoring per game yesterday and it was just over 33 points. Yes - they have put up some monster scores in 2024. But they have been limited in a number of games so it can be done. Sustained long drives by our offense and generating a turnover or two will be keys just like they were with the Bucs.

looking good that we didnt get the Rams

Yeah, had that same thought especially since that’s who I ‘wanted’ us to end up facing. Oof.

They had a great game plan and great execution against the Bucs. Hard team to do it against, too.

The narrative roots for the Rams. Everyone has tremendous sympathy for what LA is going through. Kind of reminds me of the year after Katrina where it was almost foreordained that the Saints would win a Superbowl.

Our defense has me absolutely petrified. Baker was throwing to completely, absolutely open receivers in the first quarter...scared the living shit outta me...no covers, no tackling.
That's gotta be a priority.
Our offense is dazzling. Our defense sucks, and I'm afraid Detroit will exploit it.

Also, my petty side really wants to get the win to shove it to Ben Johnson. For the punk way he treated our interview process last offseason. Certainly worked out the best for us -- but still root from him to fail. LOL
For real - what a douche way to handle the interview, canceling while our FO was in midair on their way to do the second interview. You don't do that. If you get offered the job but then you don't want it, turn it down. But don't shut down the interview while our guys are actively on their way to meet with you.
