Yeah super disappointed with him. Didn’t make nearly the impact I was hoping. I think he has a big cap number, between his play, injuries, and salary not sure I want to keep him. CB is a huge need but not sure he’s worth it even though I think he be better next season if he stays.

Yeah I was thinking the same thing. We all expect the team to be better in the future but that hardly means we will be back in the same spot next year. The NFCCG is a huge accomplishment and not to be taken for granted.

But it will be a lot more fun going into next season knowing we have a good team. All the games will now have meaning, each week is a big game again.
 
Getting rid of Lattimore would be a knee jerk reaction. Way too much track record of stellar play to write him off after a few poor games coming off a hammy. Let’s get some better run stopping and pass rush going so our corners aren’t stuck on an island with the likes of AJ Brown and Mike Evans. I agree we can’t necessarily count on healthy #1 corner play next year, but just get rid of him?? That’s a bad idea.

I've been as critical of Lattimore as anyone here. But no way they part ways with a player who is regarded as one of the best corners in the league.
 
Lattimore was hurt when he was signed and I'm not sure he's been 100% since then. He's been tasked with covering some of the best WRs in the game throughout the playoff run. And I think the other thing we aren't taking into account is that we have zero pass rush. Very few CBs, even very good ones, can cover top WRs when the QB has all day to throw. You add a dangerous pass rusher or 2 and our DBs will immediately look better.
 
Lattimore had a hell of a career through 2021: DROY and 4 Pro Bowls. In the past 3 seasons he has played in 26 of 51 games (50.1%).

What is more likely? A continuation of the part time availability or a return to his younger form?
 
Yeah, he hasn't played a full season since 2021. But that's probably one of the reasons he was available. In 2022 he had a lacerated kidney and missed most of the season. In 2023, he missed the last 7 games of the season with a high ankle sprain. And completely tore his hamstring while playing at Ohio State and hamstring issues have continued to dog him.
 
Brother in law is a Saints fan and he told me at Thanksgiving that Lattimore’s best days were behind him, injured often, and to expect flags at inopportune times. Not in a bitter way either, just in a “I was shocked you guys traded for him” way.

I don’t think we are in a position to get rid of him. But I am not excited to have him anymore. 🤣
 
Give Lattimore a full offseason--come in healthy and a full year in the system. Someone on the radio called him Josh Norman. Maybe--but we have real coaches now. I still think he works out in the long run.
 
I mean, he's in his 10th NFL season. What DB's best days aren't behind him after a decade of play? I think that's correct but they knew that making the deal. The alternative was to keep putting St. Juste on league-leading receivers. We think it was ugly at times with Lattimore out there...
 
Hmmm, I'm odd, but I'm not trippin' out about Lattimore. Was he aces? No. But he was a big reason we won the Lions game. Not targeted - allowing Mikey to be a playmaker, and some good tackles. And in the Philly game, some of the stuff wasn't fully only on him - like how is another player allowed to rip off YOUR helmet - but there is NO cancelling flags at least? Ya know? I think we'll see how he does having a full offseason and going into the season w/ us.... And it's not on him alone that our run defense has been poor.

The fumbles were really the deathblow. Even with the bad outings from the defense, if there were no fumbles - it's a different ballgame. But, it is what it is.

The punk Eagles better hope they win it this year. Because our roster is ONLY going to improve from here on out. And hopefully next year - that game is in our house!

Frankie repeatedly diving over the pile to nail Jalen and try to stuff that annoying play was a great service to the league, and gave me great pleasure; a thing of beauty, amid a blowout. He deserves an award or something.

I'll take 11 Luvu's on defense.

Lattimore wearing those bright yellow gloves is idiotic. You could see him groping the receivers because the bright yellow stood out on the dark green Eagles.

I don't think PFF is some be all end all but, ignoring the injuries, per them, this was Lattimore's second meh season in a row. He graded 67.4 in 2023 and 70 in 2024. It could also just be that his days as a high end #1 corner are over. The guy is going to have an $18M cap hit and, if we are being honest, if he were a FA coming off two seasons like the one he just had, no way he would get that and we also shouldn't restructure him and punt dead cap down the line if it doesn't work out with him next year either. We are kind of stuck and have to hope for the best.
 
Man this is a tough pill to swallow today. I keep getting these waves of disappointment and it sucks. The turnovers just killed us. I hate that we went out the way that we did, to the team that we went out to.

Yah I know the future is bright, but these games don't come around often and I think that is what is stinging so bad this morning. I hope by the end of the day it gets better.

I also hope the Chiefs just destroy the Eagles in the SB.
 
You give Fangio THAT much talent and he's gonna have those guys ready to shut things down. And they're stacked on offense too. We couldn't afford turnovers and a slow, stale, flat start out of the gate. The better team won yesterday, but for the irst time in a LONG time, there is genuine cause for optimism with our team.

That’s fine imo. We all vent to each other on boards like this, it’s a primary purpose.

But for months you’ve continually been told the rules and restrictions the NFL has around different types of practice, player expectations, etc. and you just ignore those posts and continue to post the same stuff about how we should be doing 2-a-days year round like the 70’s. At a certain point you have a responsibility to learn about the subject you’re posting about imo.

I actually think it could be a cool niche for you as the “Strength & Conditioning” poster. Be the guys who knows all the league rules around on-field practicing, classroom work, gym work in and out, communication between coaches and players in the offseason (and penalties for breaking the rules), etc…start a thread with the results, in another post below the OP track what different teams around the league are doing compared to Quinn. What do the best teams do? The worst? Is there any correlation at all?

Or do you prefer just shouting ignorance into the void while people lose patience with correcting you as time passes? You could actually learn the answers to these questions and put that energy into being a huge resource
