The problem was less the flag thrown on Barkley. I can see that as a letter of the law flag. But then not throwing it when Ertz was hit so much further out of bounds is ridiculous.

I felt like it was definitely late, the only issue I had with it is that we've seen our guys (specifically Jayden) get hit out of bounds all season long with nary a flag. The NFL has largely stopped throwing the flag on those plays, but of course tonight they decide to enforce the rule.

The inconsistency drives me insane.

Jayden was hit like that each of the first two games of the playoffs. And he’s a QB. Barkley is running out of bounds and bracing for contact that comes, as he steps out. If that’s a penalty, fine. But be consistent and don’t tell me every time our QB gets hit late or shoved out of bounds late that it’s bang bang and OK.

Yes, the inconsistency is insane. Sometimes it make me never want to watch sports. With Jayden though… I’m still all in. 😂

I agree with your sentiment, but it wasn't all that late of a hit. Maybe his toe touched outta bounds before contact, but it was close enough that the defender should not be blamed, and usually isn't. It's crazy to expect defenders to wait and watch ball carriers tightrope the sideline. Plenty of times this season have players lit up Jayden Daniels for doing the same thing....as you stated.

I just don't think it should be declared "late" unless the ball carrier is clearly OOB by a couple steps.

It's unfair to the defender, as it's called(selectively).

Extremely incorrect, this is going to be a historically good RB draft. It’s very deep. We can easily draft someone more talented than BRob after the 1st round, and it will be an obvious BPA pick imo. He cannot start for us going forward.

Agreed, and we should be able to get someone in the 3rd / 4th that is a good step above anyone we have.

I wouldn't say Robinson is garbage, but Washington definitely needs an upgrade at RB.

Robinson does ok, but it seems that when the game or the moment is big, he comes up small.

Not to mention his numerous injuries.

He doesn't seem like someone the team can count on and they should look for someone much better for next season.

Can't beat good teams on the road in the playoffs with back breaking turnovers like that. Each fumble was painful to watch and all resulted in a TD. Tough game to watch.

But I admit I'm not losing any sleep over any of this. Yes a loss in the conf champ game sucks. Hurts to be this close and get bounced. And my focus isn't to harp on future is bright or expect we will be making runs like this every year in the near future etc. My focus right now is appreciation for this season, all the exciting games, this respectable group of players, ownership/front office group I can actually be proud of, and know the grey clouds overhead aren't in sight anymore.

Eh, as long as they bring in better tackles, the RB options in the mid rounds are always wide open, every year.

Rivera just gutted this OL, especially the tackles. I'm sure they will address it though. Can't remember the last time I had this kind of confidence in the FO...I guess it was Gibbs 2, but mostly cause the defense was solid and Mark Brunell was a good QB pre Injury.

Need to draft beefy players for that interior defensive line. Johnny Newton is too small at 6-2 and 295 lbs. Fixing the run defense is priority #1.

Interior run D as a priority is outdated thinking. They'd be far better off drafting better tackles and offensive weapons. Fill the interior with high effort Fatmans.

I also wish this was 1985, but it isn't.

These playoff games have scores in the 40s/50s. An explosive offense is a necessity.

Robinson is an average man's thunder (when he's right) and almost useless when he's not. For him to be effective, he's got to be healthy and have a lightning counterpart. I think that lightning could come in the form of another running back or it could come in the form of a wide receiver, but they need a speed merchant that scares and stresses defenses. Robinson is a singles hitter who can occasionally hit a double. When he gets dinged and loses some of his power, he lacks both the speed and quicks to be effective.
