Official Draft Thread

He is a Junior too, so young and nicely impressionable. The staff feels they can coach him up so I'm down with it
 
Yeah, bottom line is, this staff has my trust with the draft. FA and trades maybe, maybe not, but they've pretty much nailed it in the draft, with a few exceptions.
 
I'll take it. The kid has size, something we have not seen in a CB here since Champ left, and you can't coach that. He might not have been my pick but I like it.

For what it's worth, Amerson's "Spider Chart" is comparable to that of Seahawks corner Richard Sherman, arguably one of the better corners in the league a year ago.

It is interesting to note that Sherman is known for playing a lot of off-man coverage and his exceptional ball skills. Amerson as well has been noted for being better in off-man coverage and for having good ball skills.

I wonder if the front office immediately saw a connection between these two and view Sherman as being a model of what Amerson can maybe one day become?

I don't know...just throwing ideas out there to uncover the thinking behind the pick.

watch the pick at 52 seconds or so ... over the shoulder, on the receiver's hip, steals a great ball from him. I miss seeing that from anyone in the B&G in a really long time. Fingers crossed.

Has 4.35 speed - probably translates to 4.45 on FedEx turf.

In this round, if Thomas is still there, we need to take him.
 
I like the Amerson pick. Didn't we have a promising rookie Corner that was 6ft tall in camp last year before he had a season ending knee injury?

What is his status?
 
Minnifield. Coming back from micro- fracture surgery which is a steep hill to climb. But I still have hopes he will be back and live up to his potential.
 
watched highlights off this kid on youtube ,not bad ....jus sayin hopefully we found a gem !

I hear ya Dave...I'm noticing that alot of Skins fans have forgotten about Minnifield and Crawford when it comes to the secondary and Compton, when it comes to RT.

I think those guys may surprise this August when camp rolls around...
 
Jerruh can't pass on Barkley in this round. Take him Skeletor!
 
I am not sold on Compton DP, but I liked some of what I saw from Crawford, I just don't think he's anything more than 3rd or 4th on the depth chart. He had some good plays down the stretch but was burnt a few times too.

It would be nice to finally see someone on this team who can overcome a serious injury...Go Chase!

Never had him in the mock. Doubt that we would've taken him, even as a UFDA. Just watch, he will be out of the league in two years.
