Official: Dan Snyder has SOLD The Commanders

Here is an interesting take on the Davis offer.

I've said all along that I was surprised someone from an oil-rich Middle Eastern country wasn't trying to buy the team. Arab countries that have made a mint on oil recognize that the gravy train can/will only last so long and are looking at diversification of their income, with sports getting a lot of attention in form of the LIV gold tour and numerous soccer clubs. The NFL would seem to be the obvious next step.

But, but, but…Davis himself said that all his funds were coming from ‘white‘ people.

You know, Jewish, Italian, Sicilian. 🤣

Wonder if we might hear something in the next couple of days? I would think a prospective new owner would love to have the deal done pre-draft...

This is why I don't trust any of this. Until he's physically off the document, I think at any moment he can change his mind and stay.

He's that evil.

The problem as a fan is that we want a new ownership group that has attributes that we value (for me that is previous ownership experience, business track record, local ties, and forged relationships in the area. Fuck you money would always be a plus if possible.)

Snyder only wants the most money that can pass through the league’s scrutiny. He can give a rat’s ass about anything else.

Totally accurate. But I'm not sure it's entirely up to Snyder who the 'winning bidder' ends up being. I think the NFL will definitely have serious preferences and has plenty of leverage to communicate that and to be a serious force in the ultimate outcome. That means Harris.

That was what I tried to say in my next to last sentence. 😉

If Apostolopoulos bids 200 million more than Harris AND can pass the NFL’s financial standards, do you think they will try to force a decision on Snyder?

I don't know. But there is some serious wealth in the Harris group. I can't imagine they are going to get outbid when all is said and done. I'm hanging my hat on that. But God knows what 'hanging your hat' on anything during the Snyder era has gotten anyone, so I get the concern.

Other owners likely keep this thing full throttle so they dont lose momentum.

God I like Wright less every time he opens his mouth.

Seems like a crazy # of investors but what do I know?

the last thing Snyder wants is the NFL steering committee to DISAPPROVE the sale and leave him in limbo, so my guess is he is fine going with people who have been vetted by the league before, in this case for the Broncos purchase.

They should change the team name to the Bazillionaires.

Like I said when I did the math, a bunch of the minority, limited partners have got to be heavy hitters because chipping in a couple mill to help buy an NFL franchise would be the equivalent of one of us tossing a couple of hundred bucks into a group effort to buy $600K vacation home.
