NFL Draft Day 1 (Audio)

My friends at that Packer board ain't gonna like Philly-some of them were hoping B. Graham would be around for #23.

Didn't take long for the Redskins marketing crew to gear up....via email and immediately for sale :)

Brandon Graham vs. Trent Williams, bring it on.

Gonna have to see what their stats were like against each other. Would be interesting to see if Philly took this guys because of his performance against Williams. Most mocks I saw had him as the 3rd DE gone in the draft.

If he ends up getting to wear #1, I would have to at least consider it out of principal alone.

I can't believe Claussen has fallen this far. This is not a very strong year for QBs but between him and Bradford, I think he's the better prospect by far. The only thing I can think of is that someone found naked pics of R. Goodell's daughter in his wallet or something. If he falls to the #20 slot I'd hope we'd look at packaging Fat Al (or somebody) and a pick next year to take him.

Why? It is obvious that the scouts see something you don't. A couple of months ago he was a #1 pick. I was arguing a month ago he would fall, Notre Dame is not the QB maker it once was. Now, you want to trade for him?

That's not a very convincing argument Elephant...who rises and falls in the weeks before the NFL draft is as much about media hype and the whims of fickle 'experts' as it is talent and potential. Just ask Alex Smith and Aaron Rodgers :)

Claussen could very easily prove to be the top QB in this year's class. Time will tell. It's certainly unusual to see a guy drop like he has in the space of a few weeks.

Very satisfied with the pick. Happy to see a solid, safe pick of need. Scratch that....of HUGE need.

Hard to believe that we'll sit tight all the way until the 4th round at this point. I'm still watching the TV in my office now and will pay attention all the way thru the coming rounds tomorrow.

Still not ruling out a trade up with either Haynesworth, Campbell or both as trade bait to pick up Clausen (if he falls to round 2), Tebow or even Colt McCoy. Would really love seeing another OL come in, too. Wonder if there's any truth to the rumor that they're talking with New Orleans about their OT.

In any case, it's a good day.....a good start.......

Is it preseason yet?

I hear you El and I'm not saying he's the second coming of P. Manning. However, I do think he's a guy you can win with on Sunday, especially so under the tutelage of Shanny squared. To pass on that in the middle of the first round (and later) is nothing short of crazy IMHO.

In my mind the Seahags would have "won" this year's draft hands down if they'd gotten Claussen and Okung. Taking a SS that early in the draft when they need a QB and a very good, possibly great one was on the board was lunacy. At this point for us to pass on Claussen, assuming we can put together Fat Al or JC and a reasonable pick or two next year is about the same.

A couple of the picks-Alualu and Graham, for example, surprised me by how early they got taken. The Qbs other than Bradford are not surprising-too much early hype for an average crop of QBs.

Aaron Rodgers and Brady Quinn. Both QBs fell much further than most expected. One time it was justified, the other it wasn't. The fact that Kiper has Classen especially high, yet teams like Buffalo, Oakland, Seattle, etc have passed on him tells me there was a red flag somewhere.

Dallas just got better, as much as it pains me to admit it :(

Looks like Broncos going Tebow. Wow, just wow.

I just woke up. What did I miss?

Williams? Watch Dallas take the next Pro-Bowl LT. :tantrum:

Not only did they not get an All-Pro Tackle, they gave up their 3rd round pick to get a good WR. I like this move. I hope he is the trouble maker every one says he is. Is that wrong of me to wish bad things on someone?

The Tebow family owes Jon Gruden a couple million dollars. If it weren't for his constant adamant endorsement of the guy, no way he ever goes in the 1st round.

Wow, ahead of Jimmy Clausen. Orton must be thrilled. He is now a placeholder.
