But if they sent him home when he was sick, tested him and he was negative, what else can they do? If we find out they didn’t test him to make sure he could play, that is a huge deal. But if they did all they could, tested him every day and he was negative, but the he tested positive later, what else are they supposed to do?

Yeah there's not much they can do.


The bigger concern is this:

 
That’s an interesting strategy. You are basically signing up for this to happen if you use a test that has that long of a delay.
 
yeah it makes no sense to me... kind of defeats the purpose.

That said, they have had multiple players test positive who had played that day and to this point there has been no spread to the other team, or people they've come in contact with on the field, so maybe they don't see as much of a necessity anymore. They're testing to test, and quarantine but their concern on gameday is minimal. The real concern is in the facilities throughout the week.
