NFC East Breaking News

Should this go here? lol…

He was pulled over for going around 100 mph in a 70 mph zone, and had an unholstered gun in the back seat….i think the cops then found some weed on him. 👍👍👍

Didn't see this reported anywhere on here. Apparently Landon Dickerson went out with a leg injury at the end of last night's practice. He was carted off the field.

I think I saw that he's going to be ok, probably misses the rest of training camp but might be back for the regular season.

Howell is back in the NFC East lol…

I actually like Sam. I remember him being quite excellent in the first half of the season before injuries, Bienemy's shortcomings, and poor line play damned him. They guy had no chance in Rivera's last year. Hell, both the team and coaches quit. If we would have had the sixth or tenth pick in the draft, I would have argued to keep Howell and get the best lineman we could. Instead, we got the second and that meant QB which, so far, has turned out amazingly for us.

But I still think Howell, under different circumstances, could have grown into at least an average NFL starter.

I like(d) Howell, too…

By the way, the Vikings signed Wentz to replace him lol…I guess they wanted a seasoned vet QB behind McCarthy. Not sure who else is on their roster, though.

I think fans do a lot of 'if only'-ing with QBs who we desperately wanted to finally prove to be the guy. We did it with Patrick Ramsey in very much the same way. Likable hard-working kid with some skills. Joe Gibbs came in, went through a camp with him, and the first time Ramsey got knocked down, replaced him with Mark Brunnell. He didn't have the 'it factor' and you even need a little of that to be a very good backup. They certainly didn't do Howell any favors by dropping him back a record number of times when he was still green and with a sketch OL protecting him. But he's that same kind of QB and probably will be lucky to ever get to the really reliable back up level in order to have a long NFL career.

I'd be more confident in Howell as our QB3 the current 2 options

First time he got knocked down in camp?…Cuz Brunell was the starter from game 1. I thought Gibbs traded for Brunell precisely to be the starter…and that Brunell stunk up the field through most of his starts lol. Brunell completed less than 50% of his passes and threw for a measly 133 yards per game before being injured and replaced with Ramsey.

It was to the point that not only were fans clamoring for Ramsey to replace Brunell, but it was being talked about in the media. Joe Bugel kinda angrily responded to a question about Ramsey still riding the bench by saying something like “He has to first prove in practice that he understands what we want from the position” (or words to that effect). Ramsey was also called a “thrower,” and needed to become a “passer.”

I think pulling Ramsey for Brunell was in 2005. Brunell was brought in to start in 2004z. However Ramsey finished the 2004 season as the starter and was the starter in camp.

I’ll never forget whenever he brought up Brunell in 20205 camp he would just say “he’s being very competitive.” That was his word for Brunell through the entire off season.

Ramsey started the opener. And got pulled and Brunell finished it and started the rest of the season while healthy.

I was on the sidelines at the 2005 opener (believe it was against the Bears). Ramsey took a hard hit in the first half (but appeared to be okay to continue). Gibbs pulled him and put in Brunell anyway.

Brunell was an excellent QB who was physically on the downside of his career, but mostly made good decisions with the ball - and that's why Gibbs went with him.

I was thinking you meant 2004 when “Gibbs came in” (or however you worded it lol).

Well extending Bland should quell a lot of Cowboy fans complaints over losing Parsons. :ROFLMAO:

Eagles really must be worried about their defense after signing Za'Darius Smith and Saquon staying healthy after trading for Tank Bigsby.
