Breaking News will be posted here, thread worthy topics will have a thread started as well. If you see Breaking News that you feel warrants it's own thread please start a thread to get things rolling!

That's interesting. I have never even heard of this guy. I think they knee-jerked a bit with Pederson who I still think could've put together a long run of success with Wentz under center if they'd have been able to get on the same page. Upheavel in the NFC East is always good, especially when it involves unproven 1st time HCs, because it's just as likely to be a disaster as it is finding a hidden gem.

Giants turning to Danny.... err.... Tommy Devito at QB :)

The NYG can say it’s a ‘football’ decision all they want. The world knows it’s a money decision.

What's the alternative though? You just compound the mistake going forward with a QB starter who's not very good. Unless you are willing to continue the losing seasons until the contract expires, you are going to have to bite the bullet and cut your losses.

Plus - the Giants likely view themselves having a fairly high draft pick in 2025 the way things are going, and this makes it clear that they will be looking for the QB of the future, and that Daniel Jones apparently is never going to be that guy.

What makes it even better, is that they’ll be looking for a QB in a majorly weak QB draft. Sanders and Ward are the two highest ceilings, but think they would have been no better than the 5th or 6th QBs chosen in this past draft.

is,nt there a huge dead money hit if they move on from him and cut him?
I has to do primarily with the fact that his contract has an injury guarantee of 23m on March 1 if he is unable to pass a physical at that time. So they are fearful of his being seriously injured in the remaining games of their already dead season. I’m not up on the parameters of his current contract but it seems they are not interested in retaining him anyway despite the cost.

Any Giant negativity brings my joy. Hyatt is very talented and hated the idea of he and Nabers together. I recall numerous ES posters wishing we had drafted Hyatt and that the Giants were receiving Kudos for grabbing him. I guess its not working out so good! :D

SNY’s Connor Hughes reports that Jalin Hyatt “mentally checked out at points last season after clashing with the coaching staff and upper management.”
Hyatt again looks to be on the outside looking in for a real role in the passing game, with Hughes also adding that some players “simply can’t get out of the doghouse.” If the Giants do add Gabe Davis after bringing him in for a visit recently, it’s no guarantee that Hyatt will be on the 53-man roster in 2025.
