The Team Captain
I have two of the $175 version I think. I’ve been pretty happy with the quality. Might be the $125 version. Either way, I expected the ironed on numbers, patches etc. The key is to hang them up to dry.
While all of this may be true, I think it's fair to say that rather than "ego" being a driver, it would be nice if some of the driver wasn't strictly $ and general fan approval (like mob mentality, it doesn't always drive sound decisions!). Rather, it would be nice if they took some things on some kind of standards. Like, for example - uniqueness.' For the last 15 years i have watched this fanbase age, myself obviously included. Wondering how the hell there was going to be an appeal to the next generation because it was getting harder and harder to see younger fans. In 18 months the vibe around the team with a young fanbase has appeared to change direction. Obviously an NFC Championship appearance along with Jayden being a very public figure helps that, but a large segment of the KIDS i see wearing Commanders jersey, have opted for the black alternate. It’s what appeals to younger viewers. There are some legacy teams that are steadfast in their tradition, but teams like the Packers and Steelers also haven’t been forced to change their name. They have also have had much more sustained success in comparison to us.
It’s the way of any forward thinking business. What’s going to be the demand of the consumer next? Clearly the team see’s what we all do, that the team has a fan base that’s ready to be supportive. A lot of which has already started coming back. If they thought that the current Uniforms were the reason ‘why’ they wouldn’t be changing them yet again (according to reports). And if the Black jersey’s aren’t a positive move, unlike the previous ownership who’s ego would’ve led to him continuing to roll them out DESPITE the fan reaction, then they won’t continue it. If it’s continuing to be a part of the team year after year, it’s likely because it makes sense to keep it.
A lot of fans, pre name change and all that, were wanting some sort of a black alternate. Years back there was even a ‘shadow’ collection made that was pretty popular.
The black is an alternate. It’s a change of pace. Admittedly I think they could do better with the black. Personally I’d like to see a model much more similar to our old Burgundy jerseys when talking about accents and number / name font. Just do it with Black base, Burgundy numbers trimmed in gold, and burgundy and gold accents on sleeves… like this:

Zach Cohen of FanDuel recently revealed the non-scientific poll results ranking every NFL team's uniforms. Cohen named the five teams at the bottom of the list, beginning with No. 32 — the Commanders.
While Cohen's poll is not an official one, the results speak for themselves. Washington has consistently ranked at the bottom of these lists since the introduction of these uniforms.
Those white ones are so putrid I am able to tolerate the black ones a couple of times a year. I remember the rage I had when I saw the WOSH and Mrs. the WOSH up there shilling those things. They are an abomination and my rage for them still burns fierce as ever. You could offer me the choice of a million dollars tax-free or the opportunity (with no legal consequences) to burn down the Nike factory where the first white ones rolled off - and I would light that match in a heart beat.Dead last sounds about right for those unis. The Snyder stench pervades. The whole brand should’ve been flushed down the toilet day one. Josh says he’s not an F- guy though so I have no doubt he’ll make improvements.

It was telling how amazing that after the Hail Mary I never once thought. Damn! If only they weren't wearing those stupid black on black uniforms. Those white ones are so putrid I am able to tolerate the black ones a couple of times a year. Actually, double it.
I would still choose the factory.
Also, it’s not surprising that the two most recently rebranded NFL teams are 31st and 32nd respectively…it’s almost like changing the name and brand from the historical/traditional has something to do with it.![]()
I think we’ll all take the doing great ON the field if we have to choose! Whenever I cringe at the uniform, or the team name, I just try to think back a few years to when I would’ve gladly accepted much worse if it meant Snyder being gone.Almost sounds like a joke ...
Our ticket sales are down
Our tv ratings are down
Everyone hates our uniforms
But, other than that,... we're doing great.

At least they let the Titans where the old Oiler uniforms sometimes.

You're right. The white actually manage to be worse than the black, although the black are really bad as copies. Man, those white uniforms are bad though. I can understand how the Commanders would bottom out the league. I used to like the Skins' White. As a really young kid in the early 80s, I didn't like them that much, but later I started to really connect those colors with the team's winning. So, maybe there is bias in my affection for that particular mix, because the current white just looks so, so bad to me.The white uniforms are the worst. The black stripes, the gradient effect, and the lack of gold combine for a look that is unrecognizable as our brand and amateurish.
The black uniforms are also bad no matter how much the kids like them.
I actually really like the helmets and the burgundy tops with the gold pants. If the rest of our uniforms were as good as those I wouldn’t rank us dead last, but because of the hideous white and black uniforms I think it’s deserved.
