Not sure how many of you know King Crimson. This song is over 30 years old. I saw this tour at Merriweather Post Pavilion but they had two different players then. Absolutely fantastic musicianship. Something new for you guys to check out.

So I've been a guitar player for over 50 years and have a very nice collection of guitars amps and pedals. I bought a Paul Reed Smith Silver Sky which Paul Reed Smith (out of Maryland) and John Mayer collaborated together for over 2 years. It's essentially a copy (with improvements) of John Mayer's 58 Strat. This guitar plays immaculately. I keep it in E flat tuning for Stevie Ray and Hendrix type stuff. Anyways, I'm always looking for new music to play (because I can only play Stairway to Heaven so many times LOL).

Since buying that guitar I have been listening to a lot of John Mayer guitar songs. I don't understand all of the hate for him? Who couldn't love a Hendrix inspired tune? John Mayer was also hugely influenced by Stevie Ray

A buddy of mine, a great guitar player, worked at PRS back in the late 80's, in Annapolis, off of Chinquapin road. I hung out there once in a while. Some of the employees were allowed one "employee" guitar which they could design and help build themselves. His was beautiful and sounded great. I fell out of touch, but every time I hear about PRS guitars, I think about my buddy and wonder if he still has that guitar..
He was a cool dude, who treated his employees well. He sponsored Battles of the Bands at the Knights of Columbus hall in Severna Park and let anyone with a band enter. The highlight was at the end when PRS got up and jammed with local musicians. Good times...

Rediscovered this album today. Was in my rotation for years. They have lost me a bit with their last few albums. Highly recommend their first three.

 
Cooking some Jimmy Page tonight for a few hours, have to shut down the amps at 10 here. :(







At his front you can see his custom built Pete Cornish pedalboard...got me some of that!

Anybody remember this collaboration? The Coverdale/Page album was reasonably successful at the time, but it was 1993. Hit at the wrong time in music history. There are some killer tracks. Very latter years Zeppelin feel.
