I have been a huge Springsteen fan since the late 70's. Greetings from Asbury Park always felt like an experimental album to me - he was still figuring out who he was musically. Blinded by the Light has never been one of my favorites - but I would have to agree the Manfred Mann version was more appealing - they played the hell out of it on the radio back then. Springsteen actually had more early play with other artists covering his stuff (Because the Night which Patty Smith co-wrote but was mainly a Springsteen creation, and Fire, one the Pointer Sisters had a huge hit with. Then Born to Run hit and Springsteen really came into his own.
