Moss will no longer be able to spin the ball

Future Alfred Morris defense:
"I didn't hit a homerun, it was a ground ball. I see no rule about ground ball swings."

The NFL video showing the 2013 rules changes actually shows Garcon spinning the ball... as example.

Interesting. That and specifically mentioning the home run swing makes one feel a bit picked on, paranoid and Mara'ed

For the record, it wasn't me who said it! :D

(but I agree wholeheartedly, lol)

I dunno Mike Until PG came to the team I'd have agreed with ya but at best I say it's a wash now. Both utilize that a LOT.

HAHA!!! Great. I'd like to see the NFL ban a blooper singles swing!!! Really would show how ridiculous they are.

Garcon played 10 games. I only know that because people keep saying we were 9-1 with him playing ;)

The NFL has said the rule will only be enforced when the ball is spun at an opponent. Not sure how you distinguish that though.

didnt Moss play all season and Garcon just a few games for us?

I am really shocked that people think that the spin move was more towards Garcon than Moss. Its been a staple of his since his Jets days.

but regardless..the rule is dumb.

Didn't Garcon actually get penalized for it at some point last year? Maybe that's why he gets credit.

After I smack Mara in the face with the possum it'll be Goodells turn.

Can we still say f*** dallas ???

Waiting to hear about the 'Salsa Dance' exemption ...

Sometimes I feel like things like these just come about because a group had to look like they were actually doing something with their roles and positions on committees. Rules for rules sake rather than value.

I get it...but who do you think of when you hear ball spinning and who do you think does it more?

Moss, of course, in his case it's an art form.

Garcon's version is a little more "in your face", at least the one they show as example.

Either way both versions could be called if the ref decides to go that way.

What utter bollocks. Are we next to be subjected to forcing players to bow and apologize after running over a wannabe tackler to gain extra yardage so as not to injure their sensitive egos and make them pout?

I agree with Boone and others, this is ridiculous.

servy, you took the words right off my keyboard.

I, for one, am excited to see all of the clutch plays this year that will be taken away by over-officiousness. Oughta make the game a WHOLE lot better. *rolls eyes*

I heard a discussion oN this somewhere, perhaps Espn, and they said they understood it as if the ball was spun "towards a player", I.e. taunting. I may be wrong but I guess we will find out.

It's right up there with penalizing a player for diving into the EZ even when he's doing it to avoid a tackle ala us last year. Totally insane and wussy.
