MLB 2013 (Primarily non-Nats/O's

I can't say the name sounds familiar, Lank. But the rumblings I'm hearing in my Pirates' circle is that he's an "innings eater." I don't know if that's a compliment or not.

I'm assuming that means he'll go 7 or 8, even 9 innings in his starts, which is a good thing.

He pitches tonight in game 2 vs. the White Sox, so we shall see what he brings to the table.

Just another 2 for 4 night with a homer & 3RBIs in a 2-run victory for Crush Davis. NBD.

Sucks to drop a series to the Phils.

Does not suck to still have the best record in the game.

Crush Davis, your top All-Star vote getter.

Manny Machado makes an unbelievable throw from foul-territory to get the out at first.

This thread has been awful quiet lately...are the Pirates on a losing streak? :p

Machado is a freak. If there was a sixth tool, he'd have that too.

Speaking of freaks, Francisco Liriano has regained freakish form. 7 IP, 4 H, 1 BB, 6 K's, 0 R last night vs. the first-place A's. One earned run allowed in his last 16 innings. 9-3, 2.00 on the year.

Pirates pitching coach Ray Searage for MVP!!

Yah, I had to do a double-take on that score last night. Well done!

Thanks for the Bucs kudos guys.

Update: 55-36, .604, +19, #3 record in MLB.

We only need to win 35 of our last 71 to get to the 90 wins I predicted. I really think I underestimated this club, despite the scoffs from some (not at BGO) at the prediction.

Sorry I've been so in-your-face about my team this year. Guess I need to "learn how to win" as well. We've been so pathetic for so long, that I just don't know what to do with myself at this point.

RAISE IT.

Crush Davis nailed number 34 to right-center last night. BOOYAKASHAAAAA!

Its sad to me that a guy is on pace for 60 HRs, and that immediately leads to all kinds of PED talk. I personally don't think he'll hit 60, but 50+ would be berry berry nice!

Yeah, it's unfair. If there's evidence, or links, investigate it fully. But don't accuse simply because a guy is playing lights out.

FWIW, I don't see anything, either in how he looks, or in my VERY limited understanding of sabermetrics that would show that a major drop off is imminent. I'm rooting for 62. I'd love to see a guy with no provable PED connection flirt with Maris.

I like that he came out and said he was chasing Maris, not Bonds, McGuire or Sosa.

With his 4-RBI night last night, Crush became the second-player ever to enter the all-star break with 30+ home runs & 90+ RBIs (37 & 93); the first to do it was Miguel Cabrera this season (30 & 95). These two are putting on a hitting display! Crush also tied Mr. October for the American League record for most ever HRs before the all-star break with 37.

Oh, also, Crush is on-pace for 70 HRs!

What a season...

The AL East is shaping up to be its usual buzz saw of competition - only division in MLB with 4 of 5 teams at 50+ wins (including the best record in baseball), and the Jays are only 4 games below .500 - its going to be a brutal final stretch.
