tshile is a Nats fan and posts occasionally, but other than that, no. There's me, Orioles fan, Jugband, Pirates fan, and then a few others who post occasionally. That's it. Then Goaldy sticks his nose in to make fun of baseball every once in awhile, lol. :)
 
Clarification: I don't make fun of baseball so much as the people who like baseball.

Yeah, I went back a couple of pages and saw some blowing sunshine up the butts of some O's players :moon: , but didn't see any Nats stuff.

I think the Nats are gonna end up doing 2012 and 2013 in the wrong order, We look like an 85 win team this year, which should have been last season's total, and then last year's 98 should have been THIS year.

I also think we miss the hell out of Morse.

Well, they didn't have room for him on the roster with LaRoche at first base, so they really had no option but to ship him (and to be fair, LaRoche is out-hitting Morse right now, so he's giving the Nats some offense). I think they missed Harper after kissing the wall big time, and now it looks like Rendon is finally starting to come around. They definitely over-achieved last year, but should be doing at least a little better this year; I'd say 2014 & 2015 are the years to watch out for the Nats.

And yes, with his MLB-leading 37 homers and 93RBIs, you better damn believe I will be gloating about Crush Davis. :) Manny Machado is easily the AL rookie of the year right now without even considering his ridiculous defense, as he is hitting .310 w/ 39 doubles and 45 RBIs at the break.
 
I think Morse added a locker room presence that might be the missing piece right now. These guys are way more uptight that last year's team and I think that the pressure of expectations has crushed them. I think that a guy like Morse changes that dynamic quite a bit.

As for LaRoche, he's only come on strong very recently (1 HR in June), and has had an otherwise below average season thus far.

But If we would have kept Morse then the guy you look at now would be Span. Harper would have stayed in CF and Morse would play LF. Not an ideal outfield, but offense, not defense has been the problem so far. And Rendon could bat lead-off for me any time, he's currently hitting 40 points better than Span and has an OBP of .453 vs Span's .355.
 
I almost posted to watch out for Cespedes in the HR Derby, but I didn't want to jinx my boy Crush. Cespedes is a monster!
 
Yeah I'm here, I post/read this thread occasionally.

The Nats had injury problems and defense problems. They had an incredible number of losses due to throwing errors in bad spots that lead directly to runs.

It doesn't help that their bats have been inconsistent and at times just awful, some of that is injury some of it is just not doing well.

They have time and the ability to turn it around, but they're going to need to stop the throwing errors and start connecting with the bats. Some luck on the injury front would help.

It'd be just fine with me if the Nats continued playing so "well" until about Friday.

I'm heading to Nats Park with SilentThreat Tuesday night. Can't wait!

Orioles trade for K-Rod from Milwaukee for Nick Delmonico, one of the top-10 prospects in their system. With Chris Davis playing well, he was expendable however.

EDIT: It was definitely necessary - JJ has blown 6 saves this year. If he'd held on in half those contests, The O's would be half a game back of the Sox for the AL East lead. If he held on to 4 of them, they'd be in first place with the best record in baseball.

Tampa Bay is heating up, making the best division in baseball all that much tougher. Orioles will most likely have to be content with a wild card berth...I just hope they can hang on!

Eh, Nats have been posting awesome attendance records all season long. I'm not ready to crap on them yet.

Their season is definitely falling apart though.
